Interesting points about Doyle, ogogo, Andreu and jch going. I don't necessarily think they were causing unrest but those leaving has trimmed the large squad down to a manageable amount of players and also, more importantly, given them playing time.
Hiwula was always getting dragged off at 60 mins, baka wasn't getting a chance, Kelly wasn't really getting a look in with Doyle and ogogo around the squad as well. Those players leaving have allowed baka, hiwula, Kelly to play the full 90 for the last 2 months and it's reaping rewards. I think the lb position is the same now, mccallum signed a new deal, that's great and I hope he continues to progress but it's between Mason and brown now and should be that way.

Comeptition is good but too many options don't allow players to settle and gel

Our results now are no different than a run we had in October

There maybe something in that but I still think Chaplin can/will come good, the problem with him was his finishing, not his build up or work ethic.

I believe our problem this season has been a mentality issue. We haven't gone on periods of WLWLWLW. It's more been a case of league winning form then to bottom of the league form. I thought after the Burton game we would go on a losing streak but it hasn't happened. Hopefully we can finish strong.

I don't think Chaplin suits the system we have been deploying as it stands.

So many similarities to last season, defensively solid throughout with capable back-ups, lack of goals early on in the season before scoring more freely after Jan. Kept ourselves in and around the playoff conversation before kicking on towards the end of the season.

Feb 24th 18, battling away draw at a decent side (Mansfield) followed by a gritty away win (Wycombe)
Feb 24th 19, battling away draw at a decent side (Luton) followed by a gritty away win (Accrington)

We then won 3 of the next 4, as we are bidding to do this coming Saturday.

Here's hoping the final game of the season wont be the limp drab affair we saw last year, unless Donny have absolutely bombed of course and we just need a point to secure PO's. Will Sunderland be this seasons Nott's County?

I dunno why people keep thinking or hoping Sunderland fail. Imo we want them in the top 2,away from the play offs. IF we make it I don't wanna be anywhere near Sunderland. They'll finish top 2 anyway, in fact I have a sneaky feeling they'll win the league.

Timing of the goals and overall performance are very different though to that run where we were reliant on last 10 minute winners in the first 3 games.

We've scored 9 goals inside the first 60 minutes of the last 6 matches whereas before it was just 14 goals in the first hour of the first 32 matches.

Scoring earlier in games is allowing us more control instead of having to chase. We're the 5th best team in the league when it comes to not conceding an equaliser - took the lead 24 times, and won 16.

We're a lowly 14th when it comes to scoring equalisers ourselves. Robins has flaws and our ability to get back into games that are getting away from us has been frustrating for 2 seasons now but over the course of those 2 seasons he's got it right enough times to have us right up there in both seasons.

Agreed, and good analysis as per.

In fairness to Robins, I'd rather be a team that holds onto a lead than a team that is good at coming back. Our comeback record has improved on last season, which was woeful with only 1 or 2 wins all season from a losing position. If we can improve on our goalscoring and our ability to score equalisers, we'll be contenders next year.

Relegation: Should Robins stay or go ? If he left what changes ? Restricted budgets multiple players leaving and coming in during the summer while we have this lot owning us nothing will change, any manager will have to operate with a ball & chain round their ankles.
