New Keeper (3 Viewers)

Replace a 27 year old goalkeeper with one 36 next birthday who would probably want double even treble Marosi’s wage on at least a two year contract glad you ain’t manager. Marosi is okay he has had a difficult season playing behind an outfield that has chopped and changed in the early part of the season then sustaining a horror injury which I doubt has fully healed yet.

I think Marosi is a good keeper but we need a new number one, I can’t imagine Stockdale will be on big money at Wycombe.

If we want to progress and we stay up, Marosi is not the keeper for us.

Why stop there? Lee Mills and Richie Partridge might be available in the summer too. If you get the chance to sign the second best keeper on the division’s worst team, you can’t just give up that kind of momentum.

I liked Stockdale when he was here, but it begs the question why another championship side didn’t pick him up in the last 18 months if he was that good

Why don't we look at Ryan Allsop? Premiership experience, older, wiser, more games behind him now...

I would expect Robins is constantly on the look out for better players including goalkeepers that’s his job and I’m not saying Marosi is the bees knees but he’s nowhere near as bad that’s being made out on here.

I’d sell both keepers in the summer. Get a loan or a promising keeper from abroad/lower leagues we can develop. Have Bilson on the bench and if push comes to shove get n emergency loan in, never see the point of paying full whack for a reserve goalie when most of them are crap anyway.

He is very over-rated by too many though.

CBs are the priority by far. If we can't get a LCB this summer then we'll struggle again.

CBs
LWB
GK
ST

in that order. Then you start to look at trying to move backups like DaCosta on for better backups to Dabo.

I’d move Wilson on. He’s not good enough for us but I think his performances have given him the chance to go and earn a shot at being number 1 elsewhere.

I still really rate Marosi and would be happy if we got a youngster from a prem academy released, a loan or an up and coming player from below and had them competing for this short next season.

Marosi has been plagued by poor defending in front of him this season, it would make anyone feel nervous

Both still have a year on their contracts and I certainly can't see anyone wanting to take Wilson off our hands. Chances are he's here next year too cos we can't afford to pay players off and then sign a replacement.

Reading the posts on here, it's clear that we need a major squad rebuild at the end of the season.
Obviously funds will remain the limiting factor in what MR can do, and moving players on who are still under contract is far from easy.

Progress is going to be steady rather than drastic, (like Luton this season) but hopefully a return to the Ricoh will boost the funds available.

He’ll be on peanuts. Signed as a L1 backup. Could easily get a better contract elsewhere is a L1 team wants him as first choice after seeing that he started loads of championship games this season.

Then we would just agree to terminate his contract. We get rid of him for nothing and he gets a better wage and the chance to be number 1.

With our defence it would be more than a challenge for an inexperienced championship keeper.

Would be happy to have him as number 2, though he might be expensive for backup, but would want better for number 1.

He's 35 and spent time in League Two this season.

You say that but he's been a back-up his entire career. He was back-up for us in L1 and we were hardly promotion favourites. Of course if a team enquired about taking him on terminate his contract but i genuinely can't see a team wanting to take him off our hands. He's not young so I doubt he's the least expensive back-up keeper available.
