Thats a fair point. Though if that is the case then I'd imagine the pubs showing illegal streams of our games won't be rammed with people spending fortunes on beer come August.
But even if they are, people are entitled to spend their money on what they like, just a bit embarrassing when people start harping on about what a big club we are because we take 40k to Wembley once in a blue moon.

They'll fly off the shelf after we hammer Bristol, Clint. In all seriousness, I think extraneous factors are a number who have previously bought but are wary of the pandemic still. I think we have a fair percentage of 'older' supporters who may fall into this category. A few will have had a 'break' due to the Trillion move, and some will have got out of the habit of attending and found other things to do. I will be disappointed if we don't sell them all - although I think we will.
Reminder: don't forget to support the ST fund (MMJ) - my donation going in today !!! (we can then buy the remaining STs for those less fortunate!)

Got mine yesterday, not sure how many I will be able to make at the Ricoh but at least I can watch it on iplayer .

Two of our long-standing gang of four called it a day when we were relegated to L2. They have found new things in their life, and won't be coming back soon, if ever. These were folks who had held STs for most of their adult lives.

I mean yes we will sell more ST's than at St Andrews for obvious reasons.
I dunno about you lot but the time we returned from sixfields, the whole city was buzzing, people that hadn't been for 15 20 years leapt on the bandwagon and it was a fantastic time.
Feels very flat and kind of 'oh we're back are we?' This time. Is this the effect of not being allowed into stadiums for over a year and covid financial issues? Or have people just had enough of the politics even if we remain a championship club?

think it's a bit of everything you've mentioned as well as the general apathy that seems to be a trait of our city.
I'll be really disappointed if we go down but being back in Cov will definitely take the edge of it. Can't wait for us to return.
Well obviously it doesn’t make any real difference to people so long as we can’t go to games anyway, so it would take a particular kind of City nerd to get excited about it now (I don’t mean that as a pejorative).
Overall I think the response will be pretty much the same as the first return (sold out stadium for the first home game back, middling attendances after that)

It took one game before people lost interest last time.
No doubt if we had a game at the Ricoh there would have been the bandwagon and fans gone but by the time we are back people have already found a new bandwagon to be on.

that’s if we go down of course,but yes seems the case if we go down it’s gonna be low attendances again in a poor league...relegation just cannot happen

I will be travelling up from the south coast but not surprised even the premiership years a lot of us used to wonder how the Ricoh was going to sell out when Highfield rd only did for 3 or4 games per season .even with returning home fans up there only a real hard core have stuck with the club I think in the end they will get around 7 to 8 thousand and that would be a good return it will help if we can stay up and regroup for next season.

I'm sure if the team had won the games following the announcement of the Ricoh return the good feeling would of meant more sales. As it is we have been dog toffee since and everyone is on a downer.

Well. gowing up around the cov area supporting them during seasons when in a dog fight to stay up in the premiership and old 1st division if you were a S.T holder you payed up and were there again .Im not sure if this poor run has got anything to do with it,also we will never no.

People that ring up the radio often quote the 40ks at Wembley. I think we roughly managed 9-10k a week in League 2 so for me our hardcore is 9-10k who will follow us whatever league we’re in. If we can get our hardcore all signed up to STs then I think that’s good going.
I do understand though that unemployment is extremely high atm, not including those on furlough, so money is tighter... and there’s an element not wanting to commit money until there’s guarantees we can attend games.
7k sold at the start of April for a ST we might not get to use much next season is promising in my opinion.

i think the fact theres 3500 people who bought a ST last season for no live football whatsoever will hold a few back, i have no doubt that they will be sold by the end of the season.

Theres been people for years on about filling the Ricoh every week, in reality we didn't even fill Highfield Road very often and we were in the Premiership!

What I haven't read yet (probably laziness on my part) is what the intention is re: away fans. If they have restricted home sales to 8k, are they not allowing away fans, or is it a restricted number for that too? If no away fans, you would have thought that the home advantage would be enhanced next season (unless the home team is playing cr*p!!)

From the club article posted this evening:
The current sales figure means the Sky Blues already have their highest number of Season Tickets since 10 years ago, when they had 8,235 in the 2011-12 campaign. Following the move to the Ricoh Arena, from 2005 to 2011 Season Ticket sales were regularly between 9,500 and 10,000 and the Sky Blues will be hoping for similar numbers once social distancing allows capacity to reach those levels.
This goes to show that even when we averaged 20k attendances in the early days at the Ricoh, we still only had a core ST base of circa 10k. To regularly fill the Ricoh we would need maybe 18-20k ST holders?... which is a tough ask

One successful season in the Championship would do it I reckon. A top six finish and we’d fill the ground the season after.
You can’t compare us on the way down with us on the way up. Big questions about whether the club can maintain recent progress now were at the business end of the pyramid, but if they can the fans will come.
Who would get a vaccine passport to enable unrestricted access to go and watch their team .Just open the whole bloody ground either way please , it's not a day at the races .
Amazingly I seem to be agreeing with Jezzer Hunt on this , he's just posed this question,the only other way to avoid it he says is by infection being negligible.
Not that I think he's an advocate btw.

Stopped altogether. There was definitely a finality about it. I have no doubt that it wasn't simply about being down to L2 but the whole shitshow around the club.
I expected one of the two to rejoin, but he's far too happy golfing these days. In fairness, the other is not in the best of health.
