You forgot about Birmingham. If we beat Rotherham so 60 is our max & 60 is their max, it means Rotherham would have to beat Birmingham in the process, which in that scenario would mean Birmingham could only get a max 57 points. Derby therefore also have it in their own hands mathematically.

At sixfields there was a 10 point deduction we ended up achieving 61 points and scored more goals at home than most that season.

Think Carl Baker commented in hindsight they got quite comfortable playing there in the end and the Ricoh was a tough adjustment. Don't think he'd dare have said so at the time mind

As you know, even if that 10 points were added back on we wouldn't have been promoted. And that was a team containing Murphy in goal, Christie, Fleck, Baker (who despite what you say, was a good third division player), Moussa, Wilson and Clarke. Some third division team that playing in front of very supportive crowds inside Sixfields.

The way we were playing last season we may well have been promoted, even with a ten point deduction. We were 7 points clear at the top with a game in hand, unbeaten in 14 and looking like we wouldn't lose again all season. And all of that playing in front of 5K crowds 20 miles from our own city.
I'm sure you will agree.Fantastic achievement by Robins and the team.
