Mcfazdean I’m sure was offered another contract by burton and they said they couldn’t compete with our wages and we took Allen as well

Wages when we were promoted from L2 rose by around 30% and the majority of that was cited as contractual promotion clauses so that will have automatically happened.

We’ve extended contracts on top of that Mason, Dabo etc and that’s going to include wage rises.

No one really knows what the overseas players cost - we were in league 1 one of the highest in terms of agent payments and a fair few clubs are below us in the championship on this - I suspect that’s almost a hidden cost in signing these sort of players

This is all irrelevant really. Look at the players we’ve got: Sheaf, Walker, O’Hare all top end L1 signings, Giles, McCallum L1 loans. James was at another low budget club, Györkeres they were just desperate to get him out after he wasn’t playing at Swansea.

What matters is the wage you can offer players because players will go where the wages are. We are competing with the likes of Hull (who beat us to Crowley in Jan). You can’t seriously think for example we could’ve signed the sorts of players Forest, QPR, and Birmingham have and they’re the teams around us.

If you want to free up the wage bill for £30k-40k p/w you'll be releasing more like 10+ players not 5.

Sorry, don’t think I’m explaining myself too well. Yes, I’d be wanting to move on 10 players (not including returning loans) and replace them with 5 higher quality players.

If that is the case and I've no reason to doubt it, think its been in the media +win bonuses (rare).
Might this present a motivational issue?

Sheaf and Walker in my opinion were good signings. Sheaf in particular has real potential and has a good future ahead of him. If we stay up I'd like to see us keep both and strengthen around them.

Yep have no issues around Sheaf.
For instance where on the scale age cost ability if compared to Bayliss had we kept him?

Rumoured £600k for Sheaf. That’s less than we paid for Godden who is nearing the end of his prime. And £400k less than Bristol paid for Walsh who is only just breaking into the team.

The problem is we don’t have the luxury of sending him out to finish his development for a couple of years and need him now.

55/74 have it down as average at worst. That’s what happens when you try and claim other answers as yours.

Most people think it’s average. Some good and some more bad. That’s all you can say.

I'm not, you haven't read what I put.

PVA was trying to say it has been good, which is also your opinion. That opinion is in the minority.

The majority opinion is it’s been average. You can’t claim that any more than I can is my point. We both hold minority opinions.

Though one minority is twice the other minority

Yes, we do. That's fine by me.

My issue was with PVA being a bellend about his point of view being superior. It clearly isn't.

The consensus is that we have had some good signings and some bad.

I wasn't being superior I was just laughing at your manipulation of the poll to suit your narrative, and then you called me stupid for doing exactly what you're doing.

And you're still at it.

The majority is average, no matter how toy try and spin it.

Headlines could be

“only 16% of fans think the transfer policy was good this season and 84% did not”

If you’d asked just yes or no regarding the success transfer policy the majority would clearly have said no - that is clear.

You were at my throat all day yesterday for criticising our transfer activity. A poll which is completely fair, determines your view is in a large minority.

If you could just accept it that would be a start. If you got pulled over by the police you would probably try and argue that you weren't driving whilst sitting in the drivers seat.

You're probably right.

Let's just hope we stay up and the point is irrelevant anyway.

Well if it’s repeated next season it isn’t.

I really don’t see how anyone could describe it as positive.

There’s no real strategy.

I think recruitment has been poor this season and I worry for us next season should we stay up tbh. Hull, Peterborough and Portsmouth/Sunderland/Charlton are undoubtedly going to be stronger than the sides their replacing and will all have decent budgets.

I worry for us far more if we go down.

You don’t know that. You could just as easily argue those who think it’s bad will hold more extreme opinions. What we know is what was asked, everything else is conjecture.

I'm sure the ratings of some players have gone up significantly in the last week...in Particular:

Ostigard
Gykores
James
Da Costa
Macallum
Hamer.

In particular the 2 signed in January.

Well I will stick with what I said originally on signings only the overseas signings were not of sufficient quality exception being Hamer.de Costa has improved to show he has a future at the club.still O'Hare is the best of the lot closely pushed by ostigard and mcCullam.

So of the three signings none were good enough apart from two.

Just say Hilßner didn’t work out 🤷
