No reason for thread ... but a great name ! saying that he was a honest player who gave his all . Another great name was Roger Van Gool - a player I really thought who was going to make a impact

Pointless comments contributes to most of the posts on this forum....surely ? No one really has any inside information on what's going on at the club ...its pure speculation by most no more ....Its fun no more - my friend .

Did he score the first goal in the demolition of the red team from Merseyside, before the little legend got his hat trick?

Certainly not based on viewing figures. That thread and others by its creator are the equivalent of a certain Jed Mercurio and his creations for the BBC

Gets engagement. Sparks conversation.

Fuck me, spoken like a true Marketeer “forget the value, look at those engagement scores!” :D

I had to explain to someone the other day a lower bounce rate is a good thing - some people eh?

Remember Platnauer joined us in Bobby Gould's first season with us, and signed from Gould's previous club Bristol Rovers along with Graham Withey. Got a feeling Platnauer may even have been player of the year that season.

Can't The thread simply be about irrelevant humour - rather than anything else ? Funny or not ...who really cares ? I'm new to posting on the forum but not to skybluestalk. I feel some people need to chill .....its football , not life

We had some real shockers around that time Dave Bamber,Bob Latchford and Paul Culpin but they were all bad players in the top league, recently we have had bad players in the lowest leagues.

The name is there at the back of my mind was he a blonde haired guy?

that’s Kirk Stephen’s. He was a shite piss head who played at left back. Incredibly I think Gould signed him when he went back to Bristol Rovers and I think he came to an unfortunate end involving a VCR recorder

Just read that I wonder how much he won.

We really did have some bad players I wonder how we stopped up so long. For some reason Kevan Smith came into my head

Its funny, but when Platnauer joined us, Bobby Gould had to bring in an army of players to replace the loss of many of our star youngsters (Hateley, Thomas, Gillespie, Sealey, Dyson, Whitton etc), which got me thinking about the threads on here we've had on rating MR's signings this season.

If we had done likewise with Gould in that season the successes would have far outweighed the poor signings, including a number of all time City greats (Peake/ Pearce/ Bennett/ Gynn/ Gibson). The likes of Withey and Bamber also signed of course, but the most disappointing signing for me was Ashley Grimes, who ironically was our most expensive signing of them all.
