European breakaway league (1 Viewer)

better days

In the old days coup leaders ended up against a wall being shot now just resign.
Turning into an absolute shambles and glad it is. Leadership of clubs involved need holding to account.
Surprised it's collapsing so fast as these treacherous sods have obviously been planning it for a long time
It was apparently Real Madrid and Man U who were the main drivers
Both in ruinous debt and probably saw this as their salvation

Of course all these chief execs etc of these clubs resigned from the various UEFA & European club organisations so now left themselves without a voice at the top table for the time being.

Right, it’s got to be fair and it’s got to be enough to stop Man City still getting into Europe, so I reckon 30 points each should do it.

Does put Arsenal and Spurs in the relegation zone with Liverpool and Chelsea just outside but ah well.

Massive implications for Man U
The Glazers bought the club with debt with Woodward's help and loaded it on the club
They've taken big dividends year on year to add to that debt
The Man U share price went up on the New York stock exchange the morning after the ESL was announced
Expect it to plummet now
Could get very messy for them

What I'd heard on the radio was that the debt pile hasn't changed and that the club is profitable. Presumably, that's the model, generate sufficient profits to pay the interest plus payout divis, and when finally done leave the club up the creek. Not for nothing did Neville describe the owners as gangsters.

Share is listed US, and the SP has returned to its pre-announcement level.

Wonder now if UEFA will sanction these teams? Maybe give them a 1 year ban from European competition?
