Neither Caley nor Ross Co are mugs teams and are huge steps up from the non league rabble we had in the first 2 games.

how are city playing

For most of the game defensively we've been poor. Too many errors for my liking. Don't seem as gelled together today as we have in other games which is a slight concern seems this is most of our starting 11 for the season IMO. Going forward we haven't created much. Our best and only real chance has been the goal and it's lead up

Cameron worries me when he has the ball at his feet and as we don't want to be playing long balls all the time I don't think he'd suit our style. Is solid though I'll give him that.

Brown may be too inexperienced to be thrown in alongside Malaga who will take time to know the league before he could take a youngster under his wing

Everything I have heard about Malaga has been positive, what do you reckon our chances are of having a bit of a fans' favourite at the back again next season, sw88? Cheers for the updates.

With a bit of tweaking, we may do,

The edge still needs a bit of tweaking as we've just conceded again and I think it was his man who was left unmarked.

Let's not forget its only pre season and Inverness are an SPL team so a similar standard to us plus a lot of the players are on their third game in 5 days

Losing 3-1 to a team almost starting their season with none of our first choice strikers, to be expected id say. The real tests start next weekend and beyond.

Watch the video of the edge nick posted. It should be a video to highlight his strengths. However if raised my eyebrows about his positioning. Really hope wood is staying

Have you seen him play live or are you just going on a YouTube video?

They are ahead of us as there season begins very soon! Should we read to much into this?? I don't think so, we have new players joining us next week plus the return of first team players such as cody, cameron and deegan!

I think Thorn got wat he wanted from the games, match time!

Yeah, we'll see on the Edge. The YouTube video seemed to show some qualities which indicated fans might take to him and, by the sounds of his performance today, there is still some way to go. It was only his second run out of pre-season football after a very recent transfer. Offered a three year contract, so you suspect he has shown some promise during scouting and on the training field. We shall see. We know that Wood is a very competent centre back and will do well in this league... but, if he is our highest earner and us getting in a striker means him leaving, then we appear to be on the way to having enough strength at the back (numerically, at the very least) to be listening to bids and considering who to bring in.

I'm glad we've lost a couple. If you go through pre season without losing you can become complacent. I would be more worried if we lose some of the next few games against lower league English opposition.

Yeah precisely. Lets learn from what went wrong and put it right in training and in the following matches. It's all about being ready for the Dagenham game.

No as I said, the YouTube video made to promote him. Lots of clips showing his positive defending. However when you watch it ignore his intervention and focus on his positioning see what u think.

No worries guys and girls (just incase anyone who thanked me is female. Don't like to assume :) ).

Sorry for delayed response to the 'thanks' but we set off home straight after the game and I was up first for driving.

I think there are a lot of positives to come from these fixtures. Although it shows how diseaving the game is as we lost 1-0 to Ross County yet they looked a better set up than ICT who beat us 3-1.

Pre season is all about getting players prepared and I think the games have given us physical challenges. And today, we we're putting some meaty challenges in of our own. Much to the displeasure of the Scots which made them even better. Who said Scots were tough? They don't even like a meaty challenge or two :) (that said I hope their player recovers from what looked a nasty injury. Not heard anything on him since, although their physio did 'nod' when asked a question by ours so I assume his question was 'is he ok' and her response suggested yes)
