Cheers sw88. How did the edge play, sounded a bit cumbersome by all accounts?

He made a few good challenges but was also caught out for at least the last goal, and gave away the pen although he was on the floor and the ball hit his hand which he couldn't really help.

There is definately more good points about him than negative, but I've only seen him a few times so is too early to be sure.

he wasn't alone is not having his best game, as Others, including Clarke was also disappointing. Too early to be laying into players for bad games though.

Time to hear it from a different perspective. firstly many plaudits must go to the Coventry fans as that is a fair trek to be following your team :claping hands: On the game itself that is our 4th preseason game, Buckie Thistle and Deveronvale - both Highland League teams as was Brora who you played, We also played Elgin City SFL div 3, so we are probably not as much ahead of yourselves in match sharpness as some may think. I think you started better than us for the first 10 mins or so and there is NO way that was a penalty, Ian Brines the ref is a class 1 D*ck and has never done ICT any favours previously. After this period I think we came into the game quite a bit more and other than one weak shot by your no 11, Ryan Esson didn't make a save of any note, I think we passed the ball a lot better in the second half and thought you fairly regulary booted it up to your no 11 and 7, though I thought no 7 Jeffers? looked pretty decent, I think we thoroughly deserved the win though I think we will only get stronger as the next few weeks go as our season starts in august and the other teams like Ross County seem to be a week or two ahead of us in game time. I thought your team looked and played very similarly to our team for a fair part of last season where we struggled at the bottom of the SPL, maybe a bit unimaginative but this could just be players getting to know each other, I personally didn't think it was too physical as our games can be much harder during the regular season, maybe just the off season and fans forgetting what its like, On a positive note the player who was injured was concussed but was up and about after the game and ok. Good luck on your season ahead and hope you get back to the championship :D

Just saw the highlights on sky. Defence was no where for their third goal and Murphy should of held the second and not spill it..

In a much unrelated matter ICT, how do you see your club getting on next season with the massive cut in finances from the Rangers fiasco? I just see Celtic running away with it at a canter with the others battling for 2nd spot. Whilst they may not be badly affected by the loss of revenue, most of the other clubs will be :thinking about:

Thanks for your honest review ICT. You may have seen on one of my posts that this ref has referree'd all our games in Scotland. Quite unusual feat I would say but I do think he favoured us. Not sure why.

I'm glad you player has recovered. It did look concerning for a while.

This match in particular was physical, but then again a lot of of players failed to play the physical game last season so I did probably see it from a different perspective forgetting what a physical game looked like :) the groans from the home fans also suggested the game had upped its tempo in the second half. Hope my reference to 'the scots' in my above post didn't offend in anyway :)

Our number 7 was certainly Jeffers, and I think that game was the best he's played in a Cov shirt (as he's been around our team intermittently over the last few seasons, I think that speaks volumes as I personally don't believe he can cut it at the level we will be playing).

Good kick for next season and future seasons in the SPL!

Maybe we'll meet again sometime, ideally in a competitive (European) game (wishful thinking but it would be nice) as tbh, This journey is a hell of a journey just for a friendly :)

I keep typing "The Edge" in the Youtube search box and just keep getting U2 videos! :D

Ha ha, nick put a link in one of the threads. He always plays the ball out really well. However j get the impression he marks open space a bit too much and a Nimble striker like cody with a bit of movement will do him.

Does not look good for season though. Yes I know it's pre season but still

No need to worry. The defeats were against good opposition, despite what people might think. SPL football gets bad press south of the border. Both clubs, especially ICT, would be very competitive in the Championship. City are a League 1 side afterall. They're only friendlies as well. To have a good workout, getting the new players to gel, try new systems and come out the other side unscathed before the first game of the season is the main thing.

Must have been some drive back down for you. Out of Interest do you have a beard and drive a Ford Galaxy/seat Alhambra or VW sharon, Was walking away from the ground about an hour after the game with my sons and they tooted and waved. :D Anyhow hope you enjoyed it up North but its a long drive, Downside of living up here is that everything seems so far away, Upside of living up here is everything is so far away :D Quite a few pics of the Coventry fans as well

That doesn't sound good. :( Positive about Kilbane, i thought he'd make a good captain.
