I was concerned at the beginning of February close to the bottom three with all the top five to play that month but somehow managed four points from Watford and Brentford should have been six and a point at Blackburn making five points that month. Although we hovered close Easter time I thought with our kinder fixture list run-in we’d have enough to escape.

Because we were gifting goals, couldn’t score and looked like we wouldn’t win again all season. A massive turnaround saved the day. All this I knew we wouldn’t go down sounds like after the event bullshit I knew we would win the cup final in 1987 and that Man Utd would score 2 goals in the last couple of minutes to win the Champions League in 99 too

Plenty of people were saying it and you can check if you don't belive them.
I said I couldn't say for sure but I did dismiss the way Rotherham were being put on a pedestal.
The same thing was happening earlier in the season with Wycombe when they got a few draws.
There was a total lack of objectivity.
Even in your post you say a massive turn around saved the day. But it didn't. The PPG we had prior to the Rotherham game would still see us comfortably outside the relegation zone as long as we avoided defeat against Rotherham.
Those extra victories were just a nice little bonus.

I was fairly confident once Godden, Walker & Kelly were fit that we would be good enough to stay up. The only time I was nervous was before the Rotherham game when we could have gone into the bottom 3 but even then I knew we still had 5 games to get out of trouble. It is fair to say that I would have avoided this place and the numerous overreactive meltdowns if we had lost at Rotherham.

The other thing to be thankful for is Shef Weds points deduction.

Would’ve put us right in the pressure zone earlier and who knows how we would’ve reacted.

Even then we were consistently 6-7 points ahead of Rotherham...

We had a couple of tough away games that we lost badly and a lot of people were simultaneously catastrophising our form and overestimating Rotherham.

Cards on the table, I got very nervous when Rotherham pulled it to 3 points after their win v QPR because I did not fancy our away form. Other than that, I’ve been very much dismissive of our relegation chances.

The only sympathy I really have is for the Wycombe fans it could be some of them never get to see their side play in the Championship.

Had they beaten Wycombe, we’d have been in the bottom 3 going into that Rotherham game. Rotherham had their fate in their hands and they blew their best opportunities to stay up!

The QPR game racked me off and I stopped watching shortly after we went 2-0 down.

If you look back though, I DID fancy Wycombe at Rotherham in the Today's Games thread. Rotherham are very poor at home.

That is true and frankly, with a home record that bad, you’re destined for relegation.

Our away record was pretty horrific before Rotherham and Stoke, but that was at least mitigated by a very strong home record. Our home record was ultimately why I didn’t feel as troubled as many on here did.

Rooney will look like he's steered them to safety, when in reality Rotherham did the job for him.

Rotherham have lost all the last 5 games by 1 goal and they have had some tough games with every opponent except perhaps Middlesboro needing to get the points.

Possibly, though Rotherham did look shot the other day. Like they had completely run out of gas.

I think a lot now depends on Swansea, who may decide to rest a few choice players at the weekend. I can actually see Derby getting something from that game.

All depends on which Swansea turn up.

Rotherham are definitely capable of beating Blackburn. You could say that though for any team in this division.

I do hope it goes down to the last game, because that would indeed be exciting.
If it is already all sorted by then, it's going to be the most boring last day in Championship history you would have thought.

But while everyone was quite rightly banging on about us having the worse away form in the league they were ignoring the fact that Rotherham had the worse home form. Thats the lack of objectivity I was referring to.
I understand everyone was stressed by our plight but the doom and gloom wasn't the scale.

Have to admit I thought Rotherham would pick up a win and a draw in those run of games (my worry was the win would be against us). To have got nothing has sealed their fate.

Agreed. Derby the worst home form when we played them away and we weren’t really at the races in that game in the second half.

I was very nervy going into the game v Rotherham but didn’t think it was going to be all over had we lost.
