It speaks volumes that since MR returned we have had teams and players that we connect with, for many years prior there were so many squads and players I just didn't associate with Coventry City. But the last 4 seasons I certainly have. I am sad to see Max go. He gave it nothing but his very best and proved people wrong season after season and played an important role this season. I wish him all the best and thank him for brilliant service to our club.

Max has been an icon of our recovery from the doldrums of the lower leagues and played a big part in that. A fans favourite (apart from grendel and evo). All the best Max and I wouldn’t be surprised if one of the clubs coming up from L1 take a punt.

Shipley and Kelly have done far more haven’t they?

Thanks for being a great servant to the club, in what has been some of the most challenging seasons in our history. I will always remember your overhead kick against Notts Co in play-off semi-final. Good luck in the future.

Seriously?...

Who has done more since 2008? He's not even in the same league as McGoldrick, McNulty and Armstrong but he's had two promotions and a win at Wembley.

That's a solid effort for a man who spent half his career kicking about in the parks of Paris.

So has Shipley and he scored at Wembley

There is a difference between team performance and individual performance. Anyway I would suggest he isn’t even the best in the last two years - Godden played a big part in getting us promoted and keeping us up

Max has scored some memorable goals that have helped our success. Not many can say that.

Yeah, and he'll be remembered for that. As should Max. Both players who have done better than what they should have when you consider their ability.

I don’t think he’s remembered for that at all his slaughtered everywhere across social media but it’s clear he’s going to have a far far better career than biamou as he’s a far superior professional footballer

Funny because I've seen just as much if not more towards Max in the years he's been here.

Both players have put a great shift in for us and should be praised for that. I don't think either progress or maintain a career at the level they've played this season.

Biamou has learnt all his social media training off Boris Johnson

biamou in reality contributed in one game with 2 memorable goals
Absolute rubbish and you know that is. I'm nowhere near a Biamou fan but that is a laughable comment. What about his goal in the win at Derby? His performance at Rotherham?

So, more than Chaplin then?

Not really no. In league 2 only one goal against Newport actually gained a point two if his so called worldies were in a 6-2 reverse

Well that’s ridiculous as then we’ve got to thank Kevin Kyle for his goal at QPR

As enthralling as this is, he'll soon be gone and you'll have to find a new target. Though just for the record he also made notable contributions against:

Swindon (H)
Notts Co playoffs
Brentford (H)
Cheltenham (A), cute finish
Rotherham (H)
Boro (H)
Forest (H)

Plus carrying out the thankless task of leading the line when there was nobody else. His only crime was not to be good enough for this league

So how did Chaplin contribute more than Max then? Im still waiting on your answer

He scored more goals in league 1 in the season he was here and was sold at a profit so on RoI alone he did

I don’t have a target many others slaughter players on here and because they hasn’t the media touch they are fair game.

Max scored more goals over his Cov career so his cost per goal was lower than Chaplin, so therefore he had a better contribution (y)
