It was on one of the pages with 18500 members. Was only checking as those with the loudest opinion are the ones who don’t go regularly for various reasons. Maybe the same on here for all I know

I think most people on here seem to follow the club one way or another .
Facebook is like that group where your mates mate is on it who went when we played Gillingham and has a half and half Wembley scarf

Well, was waiting during the uncertainty but have now decided to take the punt so hope it pays off! Always maintained that away games over the last couple of seasons were great, but if the powers that be stopped messing about and we came back to Coventry then we would buy a season ticket again. A man of my word me.....

There are no seats left to buy!

Asked to change my seat to sit with family and friends.
Have been told there aren't any who the fuck wants to get tickets and not be able to sit with their friends.
Only got mine because they said you could change it later !!!
Not a happy Bunny another fuck up on and kick in the bollocks for those who bother buying one!!!
Rant over.

I've changed seats mid-season before without bother, I think they must just be being over cautious.

If the grounds open and only 10000 season tickets you’ll be able to move. Chill
thats alright for you to say we have 4 ST in 3 locations and 25 rows apart.
so have they cramed everyone into one section?
E-mail said blocks 18 and 19 not open, does anyone have seats in these areas?

10k would have been nice but looks unlikely now.

Can't see why anyone would buy one at this stage if there's currently a 8k attendance limit. Sure, there's an element of risk buying a ticket anyway, until we see the doers open. I think we might have made the 10k if the limit had been lifted.

We've always had a very fair-weather fan base, turn up if we're playing really well or it's a big occasion/big team. Pretty small hardcore but huge potential.

Or if we move away and Janet from Coundon is in the Telegraph saying it has ruined her life but hasn't been since 1954.

Just seen that. A pretty sobering fact for those who think we are a huge club.

Our top flight average attendance compared well with Leicester, Derby, Southampton etc. We've always had a flaky crowd hence the low number of season tickets, our overall support potential is up there with those teams.

our fan base is spread across the country more than any of those mentioned - many moved away, so they will come for the big games, but will not travel every week
I always come across cov fans whereever i work but rarely southampton or ipswich
this limits our STH potential
The offset of this is the student population, which we should really push

I don't mean to be picky, but whilst you absolutely can and should compare our size with Leicester and Southampton, all things being equal I'd say Derby traditionally have greater support.

The club put out we’ve only sold 10,000 ST once since 1969. Compare that to clubs we get compared to Southampton, Norwich, Blues etc, dismal really.

Norwich yes (although no nearby 'competitors') e..g Villa and other Brummie clubs, Southampton at The Dell used to be mid teen crowds iirc. and Blues' crowds haven't been all that (and have been a league higher for nearly 10 years). - see below

This is very true. Went to see us play at Yeovil a few seasons back . Caught the train with a fellow Cov fan at Torquay .When we changed at Exeter the platform was packed with Cov shirts from all over Devon and Cornwall. We have a big cov expat community down here.

Take out the London clubs and I bet you're probably be able to plot a 45 degree curve on graph showing football clubs support south to north. It's a northern sport, and we are north of the south.

It’s always been the case that Coventry has always been a football city, but too cosmopolitan to capture the regular attendance of let’s say 25-30,000 which in reality it should. A big population of Irish/Scots in the 60’s who were/are always Celtic/Rangers or Liverpool. Same with the Indian population who arrived around the same time, again Liverpool/Man Utd.
The regular 15,000 and other fair weather fans make it a hard sell.

Are people forgetting we've been shit and just stagnated in divisions since the late 60s .

Had about 6 or 7 really good seasons in 50 plus years .

It's hard to sell football when it's so dire for so long if you've never really been a side that wins things .

Our upward trend now will see a gradual rise of the fanbase

Our support is dreadful. You just can’t count on our fans to turn out like other clubs do. Yes we have been in the doldrums, yes we have plummeted but so did others. How I wish we had the rock solid support like Norwich, much smaller city and before the excuses are thrown back about how there is nothing else to do please note Coventry is not Las Vegas.
As for stating a lot of our support is not Coventry based....anecdotal not factual.
