This reminds me of the Carl Baker thread. Seriously a player who has been out injured for 12 months and unproven in the championship. Some people need to let go or start watching a bit more football instead of talking ex players all the time because they dont know anyone els
You've literally just said on another thread that we should sign James Collins because he would guarantee us more goals than he has ever scored at this level.

There's probably more chance of Walsh returning than Bright, who led everyone up the garden path when he was thought to be coming back

To be fair though, again, has anyone with any knowledge at all even suggested this might happen? Like as far as I’ve read not even so much as a “my mate down the pub told me....”?

I'd be surprised if we didn't at least have a conversation. I'm not sure it's a huge position of need though.

He could potentially be worth a lot of money to the club if he stays injury free and finds his feet at this level

Agreed. I'd be all over it personally, I just wonder if they'll want to address other options first. Also, if bringing James & Sheaf in may not want another in that position.

We would have a lot of options

In all seriousness this would give a lot of options. Plenty of rotation. Could play a 3. Walsh and Hamer both capable of pushing up alongside O'Hare.
Financially unviable and appalling for morale in the dressing room, but hey ho. What would you think if you weere Eccles?

Eccles is still a development player anyway. The only way I'd worry about Eccles if I was bringing Walsh in is if I thought Eccles was a better player than Walsh. He's not.

Anyway, let's say we sell Shipley and bring Walsh in. We've not increased the number of players in that position. Was it bad for morale this year? Too many players?

Just a hunch but I would imagine a game of poker is currently being played behind the scenes. Walsh like COH enjoyed his time here winning the league. COH was on a free and we took him, Walsh wasn't. I am confident he was spoken to in detail about future opportunities. I think Osti and James the same.

Of course Walsh can't sell himself short and take over 25% less than elsewhere. However, I suspect he would like to return to the faces and fornation he gelled with with. Money talks and his agent will have options lined up for him to consider so fingers crossed as he would be a very good addition.

If commited to sign Sheaf and then getting James then I can't see Walsh as well ,seems to overload a good midfield already unless hamer moves, and think the defence and striking options along with a keeper to replace is a fair chunk of budget which at the level we are at will include a couple of loans at very least.

I hope signing sheaf over Walsh won’t be the case 🤦🏻‍♂️

Sheaf is League 2 level isnt he. Do you think we can get Gnanduillet this summer?
Walsh is far superior to sheaf,I don’t think many will disagree...one of the main reasons For league 1’s success was down to Walsh a team that even this seasons stand out player O’Hare struggled to get into.

Everyone saying we can’t fit Walsh in are forgetting he would arguably be our best midfielder and we are looking to improve the quality of the first team. So that means Kelly potentially not starting most games. If Shipley and Allen move on then plenty of room.

WE NEED WALSH!

James Hamer Walsh O’hare - Wow!
