Have they scrapped cashless completely now? I didn't mind it.

I did too.
I just load up my season ticket and never had to bother getting any cash out on the way to the Ricoh.

Plus the queues were shorter and it was quicker to get served. Once they had a choice of cash or cashless, I didn't see the issue.

I liked cashless as well. Pretty gutted as it goes cause cashless queues were always quieter.

It does kind of show that this was all about ACL winning that award though.

I liked the cashless thing. As others have said there was no need to carry cash with you. Queues weren't too bad either. Shame.

True. They'll come clamouring back when we're unbeaten by Christmas, with a 15 point lead at the top of the table*

Having said all this, queues will be shorter anyway cause there'll be 5000 less in the ground.

*Yes, I am stupid.

The only problem with the cashless system was the people who'd ignore the green 20ft sign above their heads; stand in the queue only to get to the front and get frustrated when they couldn't buy with their sweaty handful of change.

The tills were never sufficiently staffed in any case. Smaller crowds will be greeted by even lower staffing levels by those who run the kiosks. This, combined with the reintroduction of cash will mean long, long queues. I mean, what a retrograde step. Why don't we go right back to haggling, services rendered and exchange-of-trades?

Cashless system was a joke, say I wanted to buy one bottle of beer and had £4 on me, I'd be fucked. Or if I only went to the odd game I'd have to pay a fiver eveytime I wanted to get something. Or of course I could trek half way around the stadium join the massive que to use a bar who, shock horror, took money as an acceptable means of payment and then miss half the second half. The ques won't be because they've reintroduced cash, they'll be due to a lack of staff.

But for the people who went regularly and had a season ticket, they were great. Is this the convenience of the regular fans sacrificed in order to make life easier for the more casual supporter?

It would seem so. It worked really well for me. Never understood the gripes and saved on time.

Ahh the good old I'm a better, and more important supporter than you mentality. Anyway why didn't they just do half and half instead of having one kiosk where you could use cash spread over three stands, hardly seems fair on the people who don't want to fork out a fiver everytime they want a pint.

Surely the way to make things work would be to refine the existing system, not bin it? What about of you could top up to any value from your bank or PayPal account from your mobile? Just as if you were paying for something you'd bought on eBay. That way, you could even slap four or five quid into your account from your mobile during 'less stimulating' passages of play?

Hell's teeth, society will become cashless. Our kids' kids will laugh at us carrying little bits of paper and metal around with us in order to effect a transaction. I thought we were ahead of the game for once?!?

No it's not. I have a system that suits me and works. Why should it be sacrificed to suit you?

Yeah me too, me and my grandad would chuck a tenner on ou cards and that would do us for 3-4 games so didn't have to worry about having cash on me.

Ahh so aslong as we have a system that works for you that's fine, everyone else doesn't matter. You're right I'm being selfish, you shouldn't have to compromise for other people.

Everyone else or just you? Next you'll be saying we should ditch the car and take a horse and cart to the game. Let's get back to the 19th century.

When it was all cashless it was hard work but when it was a mixture i cant see the issue! Nothing more annoying than people paying for stuff with a handful of copper when you in a rush for the game :(

Since when was I the only one happy to see it go? I wouldn't mind if they did half and half to suit both, but people seem to think that aslong as cashlees worked for them then it doesn't matter about others not liking it. Why should I have to put my money, at at least a fiver a time, on to a card I'm going to use once in a blue moon when I've got the right amount of money in my pocket?
