Portsmouth- what on earth (41 Viewers)

Do want them to have to play their youth team and not sign 15 players like Appleton is talking of. Different fucking planet that guy.

What was the salary limit the administrator set? 5k per week per player? Even he seems a bit relaxed about expenditure - I would be amazed if Cov are signing anyone on much more than £1.5k a week. Planet Pompey; where money grows on magic trees. They might as well get rid of their academy if they don't think the youngsters are good enough to be thrown in even when they have nobody else.

To be fair, that was set in the Championship but I agree. They need to live in the real world. If they are not liquidated I can see them being relegated.

There will be a lot of young academy players looking for new clubs if Portsmouth go under.

Rioch would be wise to get some of them in onto our academy books. Of course that all depends on how good they are...

I saw on the net that sales of Season Tickets at Portsmouth have been suspended...They're gonna lose even more money now because they'll have to pay back the money the supporters have spent on their season tickets...

Incidentally, is there a prize for the poster of the 1000th post?

Appleton: 'Ferraris have been granted for the academy boys by the Football League. About time too, we shouldn't have to drive these guys round in flipping Maseratis!'

If the club goes into liquidation it will also lose its league position, and its right to the £11m of parachute payments from the Premier League.

how on earth are they STILL owed 11 million !

David Norris, Greg Halford, Erik Huseklepp, Liam Lawrence, Dave Kitson, Tal Ben Haim and Kanu remain at the club.

Norris, Huseklepp and Lawrence are close to leaving Fratton Park while Halford is not one of the high earners left on Pompey's books.

However, Ben Haim who is on wages of £36,000 a week, along with Kanu and Kitson are the highest paid players at Fratton Park.

And it is those players who Birch says are crippling the club and damaging the chances of survival.

"Luke Varney has gone and I think there will be two or three more by the end of the week," Birch told BBC Radio Solent.

"So that leaves two or three. But the one or two that are left are likely to be the problem.

Give us an update when he's finished?

I can't. I heard on the car radio at tea break - we don't have radios in the workshop. Perhaps someone else can update us.

There David Bell and shit in the same sentence, without been negative.

Now can we focus on unmasking our new red baron of the wing?

Somone earlier in the thread said no-one had said that David Bell is shite , so i thought i would oblige.
It is rather strange how in each thread whatever the opening posters initial subject matter ,somewhere in the thread that David Bell is good or shit gets brought into it

It's a shame we can't have a friendly against Pompey. We might beat a team with only 5 players and no GK
