just saw this cracking little video on Twitter, what a day!
Hadn't they played the final 2 days before???Was there, Everton had rested some of their key players as they were playing in a European final the following week. Still a great win.

Which they won.
And I was born a couple of months later, just to top it off. Thanks, first time I've felt young in a while.just saw this cracking little video on Twitter, what a day!
Yeah a very pleasant day around, followed by rehydration. It was hot in the West Terrace that day Phew!!!
Do you mean the Kop?East terrace for me to. Great day
Strange choice of holiday . RespectWas in the Falklands. Me and another lad 'crowded' around the radio waiting for updates - He was from Norwich!
He had had a fairly medicre start to his time at Coventry following on from a down turn in his form at West Brom. It was no surprise that he might have been moving on. Neither Bobby Gould or Don McKay played him in the right way and it would be another year and another mediocre season for him before Sillett took over and everything changed for him and the club.In the commentary they thought Cyrille was about to be sold to Bordeaux. Don’t remember that at all
Well, Torquay was just so expensive even back then.Strange choice of holiday . Respect

2nd of the 3 games v Luton @ at half full GR- Sealey was fantastic in their goal but thank heavens for Killer’s piledriver to set us the Everton game.
Johan Cruyff was desperate to sign him in 87. Told the Ajax board to act quickly before his value soared. They were priced out in the end after we won the cup.In the commentary they thought Cyrille was about to be sold to Bordeaux. Don’t remember that at all
My Sunday magazine was missing from the News of the World! Wasn’t you was it?Really hot day, remember doing my heavy Sunday morning paper round extremely nervous.
We were soon brought back to earth when the sale of Pearce & Butterworth to Forest was announced, my memory thinks it was not long after but can't remember how soon it was. I do remember that Pearce was valued at less than Butterworth

It's where he went after Forest.I was thinking Norwich for Buttrrwortb.
Maybe that's where he came to us from.

I used to do the Sunday magazines on a Saturday to lighten the load!My Sunday magazine was missing from the News of the World! Wasn’t you was it?
I was 7, so my memory is cloudy.just looked this up, they'd already played the CWC final when we played them but they played 9 games in May, 7 league games plus the CWC final and the FA cup final.
Ours was their second last game of the season.
They played the CWC final on the 15th and the FA cup final on the 18th.
And people were questioning their injuries!
