We've long, long, long had a dearth of decent international level keepers. Just think of the list that were found wanting once Seaman chucked his gloves in.

I think the problems started a long time ago when Shilton played on forever and the ones that followed started later and then carried on to long. Getting a younger group of keepers has been one of Southgate’s successes but the problem is they aren’t very good.
