Yea cappello was horrendous .

I'm not in the english only camp.

I'm not currently calling for Gareth Southgate to go either ..I don't particularly like him , his style of football or his decision making all the time .. cost us against Croatia in 2018 and Holland in 2019 .

And if he wins the euros then fuck me , we've won the euros .

I don't think il ever warm to Gareth Southgate though .

In the unlikely event they do a bubble type thing like they were going to do for the Champions League Final then yes 100%. However the FA emailed us to say they won’t be getting an allocation within a few minutes of the final whistle which stung a bit but was expected. Really don’t want to risk missing a potential (potential being the word!) semi and final due to quarantine.

Before you signed up to this place I explained in a fair bit of detail the issues I have with how Southgate set us up, wanting us to play to our strengths especially against weaker sides and so on. There's countless people here who were bored stiff watching us for most of that game and the 3 before, you don't go after any of them.

As it turns out there is more than one way to win a game of football. But it's the same as on the CCFC match threads, 'you hate it when we win', 'you want us to play 10 strikers LOL' blah blah blah. It isn't clever, it's just being a total cock

He’s also removed two of our biggest mental scars as football fans- he’s beaten the Germans and won penalty shootouts

I'm not sure the past has much relevance on how we perform against Germany today .

We had 5 defenders and two holding midfielders in front of them today. Don’t know about you but I enjoyed the game!

I know , I enjoyed the last 20 minutes , when we decided to play football and scored 2 goals

We had 3 shots until the 70th minute , what was enjoyable up until that point may I ask

I 'understand' it as well. but I don't agree.

What was the worst thing about supporting England? We'd get all wound up, put in a good, heroic performance but ultimately lose, as the opposition were too cute, they had too much know-how. We would demand "the English way" and the opposition would outsmart us. Then we'd have open topped bus parades to celebrate failure.

Now we don't set out to have everyone on the edge of their seats, we set out to WIN, whatever that takes. We're no longer that bunch that take thousands everywhere but always lose in the quarters or earlier, we are genuine contenders in every tournament we've been in since Southgate took over.

I imagine its a cultural thing, in particular I would think in Italy they'd love the way Southgate sets up his teams to win the game and treats it like a chess match driven by tactics, patience & gameplan instead of a free-for-all where we try to impose our "englishness" on the opposition.

I am more than happy to consign the tag of gallant and entertaining losers to the dustbin and become one of the hardest to beat, toughest opponents there is.
