Wonder if his mind wasn’t fully on the job with the Man Utd transfer ongoing. Now it’s sorted maybe Southgates seen a change. Had a great second half of the season by all accounts. Never quite done it for England yet but young and got all the attributes so fingers crossed

I don't think thats what it is, I think its just the fact that we are going to need to attack more, we can't sit back in this one.

Agree in terms of set up but assuming team is correct, still could’ve gone for Foden, Saka, Grealish or Rashford

Maybe there is something in it- I just can't see Southgate allowing something that to impact his selection- Kane & Sterling are also subject to heavy rumours about their futures and they're automatic starters.

Like the leaked team - he can seemingly from nowhere being in a player like Sancho, as he feels pace is the way to go tonight.

And if that doesn’t work, Grealish and Foden are two real game changers who offer something different from Sterling and Sancho.
