I know these deals are structured with add ons and over the course of the contract but I don’t see how spending 1 million on Gyokeres is dependent on getting Jobello out the door.

Of course it isn’t or getting Mason or Hilsner out their wages are costed into this seasons budget. We are committed to the length of their contracts unless either they can be transferred on or loaned out they are part of this coming seasons wage bill.

He isn't our most succesful manager ever but hey

I mean...when you consider hes won twice at Wembley, got two promotions and has one of (if not, the) highest win percentage of any manager - whilst dealing with the worst off field issues arguably of any manager...

Granted, Sillett/Curtis won a more prestigious trophy but you crack on with split hairs etc....

Don't be bitter G because that taxi never turned up...

80% of the managers in my time wouldn’t have been able to get to Wembley in those circumstances or get promoted

Also if you credit one Wembley appearance then he’s also had 1 relegation

I think that last sentence is fair under the circumstances.
We know you are not enamored with Robins but from where we were when he arrived and the progress made since I fail to see how any Coventry City supporter can't appreciate the efforts Robins and his team have made. Truly remarkable in my opinion and worthy of support when times get a little tougher.

Russell Slade got the team relegated.

Agreed 100% but Slade also got the team to Wembley. So if you are to claim the win for Robins, it is fair to state that Robins was the custodian when they were relegated.

Ok, if only Mark Robins been given the job earlier things might have been different.

Yeah, because I'm sure our most successful manager ever would blow our entire budget on non-weakest areas for shits and gigs.

A long way to go man...stop getting worked up by the weird rumour brigade. Things are going on behind the scenes.

Keep reading the thread, I’d misunderstood which bits of robs post were ITK and which were speculation.

So does your first sentence kind of not back up what I'm saying?

Fair point on the 2nd sentence.

With 1 relegatíon his win rate is even more impressive, not even Jimmy hill had the circumstances placed upon him that robins has.

Any more news on this Arsenal lad signing tomorrow!
It seems to have gone very quiet for some reason.

I mean, it’s almost certainly bollocks. But what are you expecting? Like, transcripts, quotes, photos of secret meetings?

He is when you factor in circumstances - owner, financial, ground and the league is way more competitive now than then. The League 1 promoted side with Walsh, Godden and O'Hare would beat Hill's League 2 (Championship) side 7 times in 10.
