I'm surprised there is such a debate about the pen, he was running at high speed and had contact from two players. It's a modern pen but a pen non the less. We should have been given a stonewall one for the obvious foul on Kane and avoided extra time in the first place, can't believe VAR didn't give that. Although I do like how VAR has been used this tournament mainly sticking with ref decisions unless it's a catastrophic error. Denmark probably had the better of the ref with a few soft free kicks and their goal shouldn't have stood.

Schmichel had a brilliant game, great saves from Sterling and Maguire. Love how Kane has grown into the tournament and got going at the right time but Raheem is just unbelievable at the moment. Unplayable since the start of the Croatia game, if we win it he should get player of the tournament as it feels like he's dragged us through on his own at times.

The team is just playing like such a unit, the last 5 minutes of extra time was just scintillating possession football done the right way.

Nah, don't be daft, I wasn't confident, I just didn't think we were as bad as people made out. I remembered posting the Euro odds in a thread ages ago and a few posters mocking us as favourites, but didn't see your post until this morning!

The 53 pass move was just ridiculous. I don't think I've ever seen a team see out a game like that, let alone England!

Got to admit I was worried at times, it was a lot about the midfield battle and Delaney and Hojbjerg are solid players who got the upperhand on Phillips and Rice for good spells in the first hour. Kane dropped in and helped out brilliantly at times though and took the Danish pair out the game and popped balls round the corner to Saka and Sterling and that was doing the damage. Credit to them but we were the stronger side in the end.

Agree for first hour but then Phillips got better as the game went on. I hate the phrase, but I’ll use it anyway, he’s got an unbelievable engine ! He was everywhere end of normal time and ET. Also a couple of his passes were quality. A real find of the tournament for us

My concern for that midfield pairing is the amount of work they have put in over the tournament and whether they’ll still have the legs in the final against what is a very mobile Italian team

How much does this sound like the arrogant English of the past. I hope we batter them.

They've been really good this tournament and an amazing turnaround but we were semi finalists at the last world cup and have developed since then.

They've had a tougher run than us but I'm hoping that means they'll be more tired than us. Their defenders must be shitting it coming up against the pace we have in our attack.

First goal is going to be key as they will do everything to put us off our game if they get it.

Germany probably, but Scotland personally I couldn’t care less about. They make absolute fools of themselves
England are not seen as one of Germany’s main rivals, the ferocity around it is very one-sided. Germany’a biggest rivalries are with the Dutch and Italians.

The bloke is a wanker

I was on a ferry for one of our group games and had the pleasure of hearing his punditry following the game as I was watching on a stream for BeIn Sports. It was totally garbage. The panel were largely clueless and had Paul Robinson as the focal point with Zola making shit jokes with Andy Gray who looked pissed. SBT could put a better panel together.

Scotland make themselves look stupid.

They’ve supported 5 teams at the Euros- Scotland, Croatia, Czech Republic, Germany and Denmark and they haven’t seen a single win 👍

I’d pay good money to watch a SBT panel, not for the football knowledge though.

I think that’s because it hasn’t been much of a rivalry for them. We beat them for the first time since 1966 in that tie. The odd friendly win or qualification humiliation doesn’t make up for beating you in knockout games.

The reaction in Germany has been that the loss hurt them a lot. If we started to make a habit of going deep into tournaments and beating Germany, the rivalry will heat right back up from their point of view.

England do tend to go relatively far in tournaments. It’s not just about being able to beat them, it’s about actually winning trophies and being seen as one of the best teams.
