Are we exploring the market to bring in a experienced quality defender to shore up at the back?

Tbf though. I doubt he’s concentrated specifically on attack, got that over the line and has now moved on to defence. It will be coincidental that we’ve got a couple of strikers in. In fact we got a keeper in anyway.

Robins said attack was his priority

I've got a feeling that MR will be looking to loans to strengthen defensively. If so, the better loan players from PL clubs are unlikely to become available until after the start of the season once the PL clubs have settled on their squads, so we might have to be patient for a while yet. Difficult for some I know :)

It'll be panic stations for us as our season starts a week or two before the Prem one does.

Left back is the largest worry initially. I appreciate Reid may be fantastic but we cannot start the season with one inexperienced left back, we do need another option. I know better days has alluded to McCallum possibly been an option, if that is the case I would be very happy. Then it will be a CB or 2 on loan like last year, and I would guess a second AM to push OHare if Jones cant make the step up so potentially Bright. We arent far off so keep the faith

I remember Stuart Pearce being an inexperienced left back.

But you dont rate mcallum lol

He got better towards the end when we played to his strengths. I’d rather sign someone of our own, but if we’re looking at loams I’d take him unless there’s someone special. Known quantity means one less player to bed in.

Our strikers only scored 23 between them last season
And? Godden injured a lot of the season. Walker injured a lot of the season and Covid. We had Biamou up top a lot on his own. We’ve got to hope everyone stays fit. But the options are better. Gyokeres showed what he could do at the end of the season once his fitness and confidence were up. I won’t even make a prediction, especially a negative one, literally no point until we know what the squad/team is.

It all depends on whether we play one or two up front. One up front then 30 goals in a season will be truly remarkable. 2 up front then 30 goals is achievable, if we can keep them all fit then we are in a good place 8 goals for each of them this season is 32 goals I would be more than happy with that

Will Drysdale step up this year so no need to sign a centre back just a left back?

None of us know how good Reid is or might be, as he was injured as soon as he arrived here. He was clearly highy rated in Scotland so It might be that MR wants to have a proper look at him in our friendly games to see what level a new left back needs to be, either first team definite, first team challenger or back up. While Mason is still here we have a back up of course, although I don't doubt MR would like to replace him if he could. This might be one of the positions a loan is used, be it McCallum or someone else, but if so don't expect it to be sorted until August.

How much have you seen of Moore? What's his weaknesses?

His inability to attract or break into a team above L1 throughout his career. Looking at what Sheff Utd fans say his biggest weakness is crosses. For me it’s the fact he hasn’t played in years. It’s a gamble and one I’d rather not take on an important position.

Hope that doesn't prove true as it's Wilson's area of weakness.Want to see a keeper dominate his area.
