Not a huge fan of signing Bright if some of the things he’s done in the past are true i.e. skipping training and team meetings.

That said, we’ll probably get to sign him on a cheap contract, he’s 23 and I’m hoping Robins can sort him out.

Hoping it works out, but not very optimistic about this.

As you say these are in the past, he was younger and a few years ago. I think his random football exile to Greece and India will have given him a wake up call. As I mentioned before, last chance saloon for him in English football.

Yet to see anything even half convincing that he might have signed.

Could he be on trial before we officially sign him / or not sign him? no doubting his ability but Robins may want to see how his attitude is before offering him a deal?

That would be a wise decision I think. Surely can’t be too big a queue of clubs waiting to sign him so not a high risk of losing out. A couple of weeks of trial to see if he shows up on time and works hard would make sense to me. Perhaps the COVID outbreak has interrupted that hence the delay in the announcement?

I’d imagine having to deal with a COVID outbreak would also make you double check your thinking on signing a player during a pandemic who is not known for following regulations and randomly travelling around the world to see his mates.

The issue as I understood it was agreeing to come and then backtracking which was bloody annoying
Bright took a football decision a couple of years ago to stay at a premier league club rather than drop two divisions which is understandable things didn’t work out the way he hoped and he is now where he is. That decision doesn’t take away his ability. Still not convinced it will happen but Robins is a pretty hard nosed manager and would give Bright every chance but wouldn’t hesitate to to do whatever is needed at the time.

My understanding is that Bright has signed
He's been training with us and has apparently been given a squad number
Not sure why there is a delay
Heard the same things about Victor earlier in the week and he was only announced yesterday

Thanks, do you know if they’ve managed to keep training going despite Covid cases?

Let's go crazy, Spurs under Ardiles style and a front 5 of Jones, Bright, Waghorn, Walker and Victor.

O'Hare attacking midfielder.

Godden first off the bench!

:D
