It's called a shared opinion. I suspect if you continue in your own worship of the Clueless One you may find yourself completely on your own (well Dongonzalos will still be with you).

there you go again unfactual. but I'm sure you won't let facts get in the way of you

I last saw him smoking dope outside my local shop - just odd.

Far Gosford Street? Many a nervous walk through there after a night out, haha!

We haven't offered Thornton any sort of deal as yet, Morrell and Barr do seem to go after players they have had previous links with, hence us signing Ormerod this summer. We managed to turn around your own Lee Fowler after a few years club hopping with tin-pot clubs, only for him to get back on the sauce, wig out and force a move to Fleetwood, class player on his day but an absolute dumbo alongside his issues.

Shame to see Cov in such decline, the Ricoh seems a bit of a noose around the club's neck, it's tough to balance the debts whilst also trying to remain competitive, we at Wrexham know this ourselves.

He was a right pratt over that move, remember reading all about it. He's been much respected as one of the best passers in non-league for most of the past 5 years, but as you say, blows it every 6 months and ends up with 3 or 4 clubs a year (as low as Halesowen just a few years ago).

I remember him coming on as sub against Birmingham the year after relegation: their fans chanted "who are yer?!" and I thinking him a top prospect thought, "yeah, we'll see who's saying that n a few years!". Guess they were right!

Absolutely, to be fair, his composure and ability to pick a pass are much higher than Conference/League 2 standard but it just proves you can have all the talent you want, it doesn't count for anything if you're not mentally there. Shame really, but he seems a bit of a douche so que sera.

Thanks again SW88! Hope you don't mind me asking a couple more questions. Do you see any positives? Like, indications of players beginning to spark off each other, even if they are not quite there yet? Did it look like Thorn was trying things out tonight like seeing if one or two players could play in different positions? (it doesn't look like it worked) And did the players look uninterested, baffled, unfit, disjointed or something else?

Tonight and Nuneaton I saw very few positives. As mentioned before the only players to earn some credit to ugly were Clarke, Baker and Murphy, the latter two I very rarely get chance to compliment but thought they stood out (unfortunately as the other players didn't perform they probably stood out for just being the best of a bad bunch).

The only position I could see Thorn 'trialling' something new was left back. I don't know what it is but I seem to think he's not a fan of Hussey. Tonight's decision to drop him for The Edge though backfired as the edge was awful at LB. no fault of his own as its not his natural position but that failed point blank tonight!

I'd like to think Kilbane was again being trialled in CM role however I fear this is already a decision that's been made by Thorn and Kilbane is going to be Central Midfielder only. Which in itself is a worry considering I only ever recall KK being a left midfielder or left back, so asking an elder pro to learn a new position is pretty desperate IMO (and one that isn't working although some may disagree).

Regarding players gelling, if anything, as pre season has gone on, they seem to have gelled a lot less. V Hinckley Sheffers and ROD were linking up very well but since then we just haven't been able to find a pass.

The players certainly looked uninterested. From the off the City fans got 'applauded' by only Sheff as they entered the pitch maybe because there was no segregation, I dont know, but it would have been nice for them to acknowledge us in some form), and then Clarke and Baker at the end (I think it was). They couldn't string a pass together, Brown always looked for the long ball but rarely succeeded in finding a 'yellow man'.

Fitness wise the players looked ok! But maybe that's because they didn't do half the moving around that they needed to!

We were definately shown up tonight by a stronger, lower league outfit.

With form like this V lower league teams, and my history in the cup 1st round I wonder if I should be asking for a refund on my cup ticket.....

Thanks SW88. Bit worrying for us that you think Wrexham were stronger. We'll need to be strong in this league. Let's hope Thorn leaves the experimenting behind once the season starts!

Good observation

So who has ever said we are certainties for promotion this season?

Unfortunately quite a few people.

Personally I think we are two decent signings away from getting in the top six.

However I want wood in the defence and hussey at left back and the edge as back up only behind Willis in the pecking order.if killer is to be cm I want him competing with deegs for the defensive role. We need to sign another Norwood on loan.

I have s horrible feeling edge was at left back as hussey and wood are off.

Just got back! Well about 30 mins ago. Long drive back after losing 4-1 to Wrexham that combined with my shitty sat Nav app I have on my phone which I think has brought me the longest way possible even when I clearly chose the 'fastest' route! (wouldn't recommend navfree. What I get for using the only free sat Nav for an iPhone. Tight git that I am :) That said my reporting is a lot better than my map reading! Will teach me to not forget my 'proper' sat Nav next time when away from home!).

I am genuinely starting to worry for next season now. As Thorn was able to bring in signings of his own, albeit free transfers, I was beginning to have a bit of hope thinking we would do well. But the last 2 friendlies alone, and I could probably include Invetness in that, have been woeful to say the least! I do think AT should be greatful that we won against Hinckley and Brora as if he hadn't I do seriously think he'd be out of a job tonight! I firmly believe he should still be as I get the impression the players just aren't up to him being manager anymore.

I wanted to believe he was the right man and I've posted I. The past to say he will do alright this season, but I'm beginning to think the opposite now and I'm worried!

I for one hope he can prove me (amongst many) wrong, but I do t think he will.

Ps, glad my reports are appreciated. Hope you don't expect the same service when the league starts :)

Should have pressed shortest route then.

There are a few that appear after we win a game ( like Hinckley ), we've just lost 4 in a row though so you won't hear from them for a while and the doom and gloom crew are out in full force. Both are equally off the mark.

I have said we should be in the top 6. If we are not in the top 6 by Xmas it is time to give AT the boot.

Look at our opponents. With our wage bill and players we have, including players already with us, we should do it.

not good enough

friendly may be a friendly but these are worrying results....if they creep into the full season thorn has to go.

Should still be top 6. No excuse not to be top 6 so Thorn should go if we are not top 6 at the end of October.

Well done.

Would love to know what you mean by uneducated fans. Would love to know how you are better educated than myself. You call me a WUM and accuse me of being someone else. Just above this message you did I had mentioned this is AT's chance and if he can't get us in at least the top 6 he should get the boot.

If anyone is a WUM it is yourself. Not my fault I have a mind of my own and don't act like sheep following the loudest.
