Hard disagree. Our defence and GK were by far our biggest issue. We lost our strikers due to injury but when they played they were more than good enough, our problem was getting the ball to them in dangerous areas. Our xG was pathetic last season.

We needed to either buy a big man we can lump it up to or massively improve the defence so we weren’t under the cosh the entire time. We’ve done neither.
Agree on a target man I was hoping to see a mobile one come in

Even without the strange times we’ve had we still would want to be shrewd,Matty James for me is gonna be a massive miss

Yet....

You are aware that there is still way over a month until the end of the transfer window aren't you. If it was the first of September today and our squad was exactly the same I'd be very concerned about the CB and lwb positions so let's revisit this then shall we

We’re obviously going to loan a CB and LWB in. I hope they’re decent. That will get us back to the defence we had last year, which was pretty poor and needed improving.

Unless they are an upgrade on osti and McCallum of course

Plus we also should hopefully have fully fit rose and dabo back this season which we didn't have at all last season and I don't want to send you into a rage coma but I think we've also upgraded on the gk as well

We also have a team with a years championship experience which will be vital and I'm sure help cut out some of the silly mistakes we made in the first half of the season

In regards to Sheaf I can’t recall seeing him have one stand out game last season tbh 750k on him for me is madness but I accept others see it a lot different, hopfully he proves me wrong this season

There’s a decent player there but he needs to cut of the mistakes. But look, we haven’t paid £750k up front for him. Far from it.

Christ, should we just voluntarily relegate ourselves now, and save the embarrassment of being thrashed every week?

Concerned that neither Rose nor Dabo got on V Sevilla. I won’t start the Moore argument again but even Robins said he’s there to challenge Wilson not as No 1

Did you see our strikers last season ? It’s the one area that needed sorting probably more than anywhere else,Gyo will be instalments and tbh it’s a good move he’s got potential Waghorn on a free also adds to what we had with max and baka,it’s hardly being wreckless with a budget them 2 coming we should have more in the pot which I’m sure we do,wreckless is wasting a budget he’s being shrewd it takes time I’m certain we will be stronger by the start of this season than when we finished last

No it wasn’t, we conceded over 60 goals most of which were comical in fashion. At the moment we have a keeper on par with the one we let go and no replacement for McCallum or Osti

Knew this would be the response.

As I said, we always overspend. Every season. We never end up in the black. We exist entirely at the behest of our owners and have as much money as they give us.

The real question is how do we spend that money and I think it’s fairly clear that with a small increase in budget we could have picked up several players who would return on their investment.

Your argument makes no sense at all. The people are saying we need to strive to be self sufficient aren't talking about the past they are talking about now. The clubs just coming out of a groundshare in Birmingham and a pandemic that stopped ticket sales. Sisu are clearly no angels but they have backed Robins in recent years and to say differently is just crap. They have stumped up the good part of 2m this window (Sheaf, Gyo fees) and there is still time for more to join.

The fans have stumped up 3m this summer

Preponderance of evidence.

Played L1 most of his career, didn’t get in ahead of Wilson in the first friendly, looked pretty poor, Sheffield Utd fans say L1 is his level.
Cardiff fans I’ve spoken to think he was decent, “didn’t let us down”, when he played for them.

Not sure why Dabo didn’t play but as I understand (and May well be wrong) hyam had +ve COVID test and as Rose rooming with him the latter also self isolated. Hopefully both hyam and rose back v shortly.

Or not hence why those clubs that do invest sometimes find themselves like derby and sheff wed whilst others find themselves like Brentford and Barnsley

I think you’re correct in everything else that you say and it’s why I have so much respect for robins and boddy working to a budget and seeking to increase that budget through prudence and effective coaching and transfer dealing.

They deserve our support given what they’ve managed over the last 4 years I do wonder what the upper limit is of our success with the ownership as it is.

You’re saying ‘most’ goals we conceded were “comical”?

Good god this is dreary stuff

Look through all of them and pick out the ones that weren’t down to some laughable mistake. The penalties given away alone should be enough to split your sides

I don’t know how you live your life like this, creating things to be “concerned” about all the time

I do find it strange how people have created this narrative whereby they're convinced Moore is an upgrade on Marosi when there's actually a fair amount of evidence to the contrary.

I'm all for people being entitled to their opinions but if you can't back an opinion up with anything more than "it's a Robins signing then he must be an upgrade" then it doesn't hold much weight.

I don’t know what you mean but to be acting like this ages before the season starts, tad extreme tbh

All it consists of is ‘our recruitment so far concerns me though I know the club is trying’. But around these parts unless you’re gushing over the activity you think we’re doomed to relegation-nobody here has said that.
