I know there is one younger possibly an under 16 or first year scholar they have real high hopes for, long way to go for him yet though.

You’re so fucking boring about Simon Moore. We get it you hate him and will be salivating at his first fuck up
I can see the concern, we spent years with Burge costing us points, the goalkeeping position is really important. It’s not one you can mess with.

I think Schmeee is hasty, but ultimately the points he make are valid, if he’s rusty hes got to get up to scratch quickly

the defence has question marks, and they will be worse off if they don’t trust the keeper

The points smmheee makes about Moore have some validity, and he didn’t perform well in the friendly at the weekend, but he’s pushed those points somewhat. In fairness, this is partly due to everyone constantly challenging him on them.

I’d hope the recruit team see Moore as an improvement although it seems possible MR wanted Marosi out for demanding to be played, so maybe they see him more as a replacement rather than an upgrade.

Let’s give the poor bloke a chance to prove himself though and reserve judgement until then.
Robins has said he’s aiming for 3 more in so let’s hope the ITKs pick up some rumours soon.

There is also no need for you to constantly slag off a player that you have never seen play (outside of the highly competitive environment of a first pre season friendly against a champions League team of course)

And then many of your reasons you have are proven to be nonsense 🙈

Don't get me wrong if once he has played competitive games for us he ends up being as shit as you seem to think he is then I will join you in the we need a new keeper/what the fuck has robins done camp but right now at this point we just don't know

“Many of your reasons” = one misread post

Again, not slagging anyone off but if I’m asked a direct question about why I think something I’ll answer it.

Maybe you just need to learn that other people have different opinions and not have a tantrum when you see them?

I’ll summarise:

Anyone who doesn’t think we’ve signed amazing players with more

It never changes. The classic ‘you’ll be happy when we lose’ wears thin after a while though-no, I’ll be happy in the ground watching us win. Because oddly I do quite like that more than debating free transfers on a forum

Another one we have obviously missed out on as we don't have the budget for #robbinsout #joysnewhandbags

How are blues affording the signings, speaking to their fans at work their owners are shocking and don't invest at all

In all fairness whilst he got it wrong about Bristol none of his other points are nonsense. You're just actively choosing to ignore them and instead resorting to calling him thick whilst in turn crediting yourself as being logical. Personally I think any point that is backed up with reason and evidence is worth considering personally.

No one wants to see our signings fail but I've never seen the logic in taking the position of: we all must praise every signing made and nothing bad can ever be said about the recruitment. It's a non-sensical approach to take.

Fair enough if you want to remain positive but I don't think that necessarily gives you the right to spout vitriol at posters for reasonably explaining why they don't rate a signing.

But it isn't logical to write off a player you have never seen play, right now Moore could either be the second coming of oggy or the second coming of burge we just don't know as none of us have seen him play which is my point

We've all seen bright, sheaf and gyo play so have informed opinions on them and I think most of us would have seen waghorn at some point so can have an opinion on his ability but literally none of us have seen Moore play so I don't understand why we can't give him and the recruitment staff the benefit of the doubt until we know one way or another

if he is shit then I'll be at the front of the queue questioning robins' choice on signing him but personally I can't form an opinion on him until I've seen him play some competative games

This is ludicrous.

You’re saying if we signed someone from a pub league aged 40 you’d be all “well you never know” because you haven’t seen him play?

Reminder: all I’ve ever said is Moore is a gamble because he hasn’t consistently performed at this level and he’s 31. The rest is expanding on that when challenged.

Well we've done ok over the years from taking players from non league but even by your standards this is a bit of a silly reach

No it’s taking your position to it’s logical conclusion. Either you can make judgements based on a players career and reviews from other fans or you can’t. Which is it?

Name three players we’ve signed from pub leagues (not non league) to play at this level in the last 30 years who have gone straight in as first choice.

Moore would have played against us over the years wouldn’t he? Not that I remember it

I'm very confused (I think the sun is getting to you) where have I compared Moore with a pub league player? All I'm saying is that you can't be so anti a player you have never seen play and that's all

I know most people on here's default reaction is negativity (sleepwalking to relagation and all that) all I'm saying is that people shouldn't write off players as a default reaction if they haven't seen them play

What are you on about?

Again here’s the history of this:

Me: I think Moore is a gamble and likely not better than what we’ve got

You: OMG why do you like seeing us lose? Why would you think that??

Me: Well the reviews aren’t great, he’s 31 and not performed above L1 consistently, and there were strong rumours we were after two keepers. His limited record at this level is worse than Wilson’s and it was longer ago.

You: Why are you calling him a pub player?? Why do you hate CCFC? You will wank when we lose!! You’re stupid!!!!

Why would a manager let a keeper go to bring in a worse one ? Does that make sense to you ?

Hard to scout someone who hasn’t competitively played in 3 years. Plus I hear Marosi and Robins had a bit of a fall out and there’s not that much on offer out there as freebies

Do you have any evidence whatsoever to back up your point?

jesus christ

nobody has any evidence of anything

you have no way to say with even a modicum of certainty how Moore will turn out, you have nothing to back it up. In the same way nobody has any evidence to say he's going to be the new Buffon. A player might be garbage for us then go onto great things, conversely a player who's done nothing before could come to us and do really well- history is littered with examples (more in the former category unfortunately but still, the point stands).

I think the point being made is "lets see" as opposed to getting massively entrenched in point scoring to try and somehow prove its a bad signing.

Its not bait of anything

You have nothing, zero, zilch, nada to prove that Moore is going to be a bad signing. And likewise nobody can say he's going to be great. So why spend so long doubling down trying to prove the unprovable, that Moore is a bad signing?

Why is everyone getting their knickers in a twist about budget this summer? We haven’t finished our transfer dealings yet.

Also, it’s a fact of life, Covid has caused major issues with cash flow in football, so pretty much every club is in the same situation.

Finally, what is with writing off players before they’ve played for us?

We get rid of Max and Baka and replace them with a Viktor and Waghorn. Both good strikers at this level. Viktor hasn’t hit his prime yet and Waghorn brings vital experience up front.

We get rid of Kasta who quite frankly is one of the worst signings in our history and replace him with Bright. Yes, Bright is bit of a maverick but the most eccentric players are. Is he a shit footballer? The answer is no! On his day he is unplayable. Also he is proven to be an asset for us in the past.

Sheaf is now perm and Robins has said he needs to improve certain parts of his game, but he was injured for a lot of last season. We saw glimpses of a top player there.

Moore is in to replace Marko. Management have identified him to be a better keeper than Marosi. So let’s see what he brings. Let’s not judge him on a pre season game in 35c heat against a Champions League side. Blades fans say he’s a good keeper.

LB we know they will bring players in and also at CB.

We have breakthrough players this season with the likes of Eccles in midfield. Bapaga and also Jodi fingers crossed will be a real asset.

This season we’re making more players perm rather than loan. Incrementally the squad gets stronger each season. I’m sure the loan players will be good quality.

Honestly, show me what other clubs have done transfer wise in the league that is so impressive? Especially mid to lower table ones. Not many.

All in all I’m very hopeful this season. I’m relishing an attack with the likes of O’Hare, Bright, Jones, Viktor/Waghorn etc.

Bang on.
