I really hope Robins isn't doing a Mowbray, waiting and waiting to get his top target then missing out leaving us up shit creak.

Another possible option from Chelsea could be Trevoh Chalobah. Can play centre back or defensive central midfield.

I was looking at him a couple of weeks ago, seemed certain he was going to West Brom then but that deal looks off. He is still being chased by much bigger clubs than us though so think it's a non starter.

There are others I’ve mentioned on another thread Ben Davies is leaving Liverpool as an example but he would be costly wage wise and is 30 but was a decent player for PNE in this division. Whatever we need one and a decent one won’t be cheap.
He’s not 30, he’s 25

I wish people would understand that London clubs just Hoover up any young local kids and put them in their development squads.
Seriously, if your a teenager with 2 legs, and you get seen kicking a ball against a garage door, you will be offered a contract by 1 of the london clubs, purely as there are so many clubs in a small area.
Just ask yourself how many get into the first team.
Just because they allow some of them out on loan, is no reason for people on here to start jerking themselves off. It just means they are moving them out to bring more in.
He's a Northern Ireland international at 19 and I've specifically read articles saying he's the real deal...

They are all the real deal until tested.
This time last year Drysdale was the "real deal" now your suggesting we take a punt on a 19 year old with zero championship experience on the basis that he's on Chelsea's books, and he's had a run out for Northern Ireland, I've got news for you mate, if you had a silly accent, you could get a game for Northern Ireland.

Looking at his record, the only time in his entire life he's ever kicked a ball in big boys football is his one appearance for NI in a friendly match against Ukraine!!!

Ffs!!!

I’m still hoping it’s Jamie Paterson but it seems it’s a centre half. Østigard seems a non-starter to me, China’s agent always said he was coming to us on trial and then elsewhere.

Tldr? I haven’t got a clue.

Ha what nonsense. Drysdale not being able to get near our first team is no way comparable to a young lad not getting near the Chelsea team.

Total nonsense, Drysdale has played grown up football at league 1 level, you've just pulled a random kids name out of the hat who's literaly has never kicked a ball in the football league, or even non league, or even a pub league, and spouted crap. There is literally no comparison. It's probably the most ridiculous suggestion of the entire pre-season.

Dont even bother replying, your only going to embarress yourself further!

I don’t know if this guy is good or not but being 19 and not played a game yet isn’t uncommon, especially at bigger clubs where they have lots of players

Haha ok. Btw Levi Colwill who’s just gone on loan to Huddersfield from Chelsea has never played a first team game either. But also very highly rated.

Based on what you’ve said previously I don’t suppose you’ll have ever heard of him but let’s see how he gets on this year and revisit this. I think it is you who’s utterly clueless and embarrassing.

Go spin that wheel and come up with another!

Who would you sign that Fatso? And don’t just say Ostigard ffs.
Good question (at last)
I'd sign Tom Lees hes available on a free, wages should be well within our budget, and he has bags of experience at this level, he has been club captain and is a proper leader and mouth piece on the field.

we are talking about a loan signing aren’t we?

We are talking about adding proven quality and experience, I dont care if that's a loan or permanent as long as it's an improvement over what we already have.
I've yet to hear any serious loan suggestion that's better than Rose, Hyam or Pask.
Remember when we signed Pask from west ham, and everyone one on here got a hard on over how highly regarded he was?

Good god, I hope not, we have far more ambition than that.

I'd suggest he's better than what we currently have. And way better than any of the teenage nobodies that have been named as loan targets.
I'm beginning to wonder if there's some sexual chemistry going on between one or two forum members on here and young teenage boys from Chelsea!

Blimey - I didn't realise quite how clueless you were. This is a thread about "Robins long term target" and this is what he said about 24 hours ago. Shouldn't have been too difficult to remember.

“I will make a decision on that very soon but I am hoping to get my long-term target over the line in the next week to ten days.

“But we’re talking loans, so we’re at the mercy of the other team. Hopefully we can finalise something and if not we will look elsewhere.”

In what way is he better than what we have or better than the likes of Clarke-Salter as an example?
He's a proper throwback 80's style defender, head & kick everything but woeful in possession. Even then McFadz pisses all over him in pretty much every relevant statistic.

Its pretty clear from what you've said on this & other threads that you don't watch a lot of football outside of us (which is fine) but he's been poor in all of the last 3 seasons.
He's 31 this year & likely wanting big wages. I'd be surprised if he finds himself a Championship move unless he's prepared to be a low wage substitute.

What’s your thoughts on Clarke-Salter? Not seen him play but looks like he failed to get into a pretty poor Brum side last season.

I like him. Was excellent in his first spell at Brum & like @SBAndy I was a big advocate for us signing him. He struggled with injuries a bit last season & of course Brum had that clown Karanka in charge for the most part too.
He's naturally left sided & very comfortable in possession, would bring the balance we were desperately missing last season.

Two key things: firstly, the season before at Blues he was shifted out to LB for a good portion of the season and they thought he was good. Then last season he was injured a fair bit so didn’t get much chance to play, and then there was a change of manager. The fact he’s played LB really sells this to me as he should be capable defending in wide positions and that’s exactly what you need in a back 3.
