TIL Godden, Walker, and O’Hare don’t exist.

Every days a school day.

We currently can’t put out a back three without using kids and trialists but sure we don’t need any CBs.

Baka didn’t start a single game last season.

We've got a few niggles and a covid outbreak

We've basically also replaced McCallum, 1 more CB and we are at least if not stronger than last season

They didn't. That was the rumoured asking price so they took him on loan instead. No doubt still stumped up a substantial loan fee though.
Yea just checked, seems like the deal was done but then turned into a loan for some reason.
It does show the different level that relegated clubs are at when they drop into the championship, at any one time there could be up to 9 clubs in the championship that are in receipt of premier league parachute payments, that hardly seems fair, it's making the premier league a closed shop to most teams.

@better days do you know if Clark-Salter is a target?
I was just thinking about the midfield and I still think we need one more quality addition. I wonder if we could get Dewsbury-Hall from Leicester on loan? He was decent for Luton last season.
If we add Cranie as a back up, Maatsen as left wing back and bring in a good centre half similar to Osti I’ll be happy.

We did pay £5m for Lee Hughes tbf and that was when it was a lot of money

Robins has already said he's looking for another centre mid. The one he's conceded defeat on is a 2nd LWB so looks like Reid will indeed be backup to Maatsen.

Really don't know about targets
I think we all need to leave it to Robins and his team
Very few PL teams have sent their young players out on loan yet. In most cases they are getting game time in the warm up games especially as all the guys who took part in the Euros aren't back yet
Things are happening behind the scenes, for example the big Belgian lad was with us for a while before he featured as a trialist on Saturday

Rangers 'track' Coventry star
Rangers are reportedly continuing to track Coventry City midfielder Gustavo Hamer.
The Netherlands under-20 international arrived in Championship last summer for £1.3million from dutch club PEC Zwolle, and helped the side survive in the English second tier.
Steven Gerrard is claimed to be monitoring the situation at the club according to Give Me Sport.

Please can someone point out to the bickering old women what a 'DM' is. F*cking hell, it's dull.

I’d be happy if the Cranie rumour was true. Underrated last time he was here, and played out of position a lot. He’s a great ball playing CB, with plenty of experience and positional sense to mitigate a lack of pace. Versatility is useful too, but I don’t really fancy that being used to play him WB!

Him as experienced cover, plus Rocky, plus an ‘Ostigard’ and CB wise we are fine. Add a LWB and the squad is more than strong enough.

Ideal world we add another CM now Eccles is out, as we know Kelly won’t play a whole season, so as it stands it’s Hamer and Sheaf, with Allen/Shipley as CM cover, which isn’t ideal.

Brighton are still looking to sell goalkeeper Christian Walton during the transfer window.
Walton is 4th choice, with No.1 Robert Sanchez returning from Euro 2020 with Spain.
New signing Kjell Scherpen + Jason Steele each had 45 minutes in Saturday’s friendly at Glasgow Rangers.

That would leave us with mcfadzean, rose, Hyam, pask, drysdale, crainie, bushiri and another at centre back. 8 centre backs. I think if we are being realistic priority is a left back, a centre half and a holding midfielder.

So will Maatsen be announced today? I do agree Cranie would be a valuable addition, and presumably the "long term target", and if not that target then Rocky as one for the future, would want something similar to Sheaf deal though. I think after that it is either a second LWB or DM if we can only have four more.

If we announce:

LWB Maatsen
CB long term target on loan
CB/versatile Cranie
CM loan

That will be would complete w decent window for us.
Sounded like we’d only get 3, at best, so I’m guessing any CM as cover is going to have to be very cost effective unless we can get a couple out.

Did he not start away at Brentford? 😛
