Yeah but the players are there for a season, they're protected from any of the club's real issues and will be playing every week

You just repeated the same point? As I said I would agree if they at least had a decent manager. I wouldn't be thinking Rooney is the right manager to develop my best young talent.

Just looking at bakayoko at Bolton today , starting on the wing apparently.

Interesting

Ian Evatt said it pre-season that he played on the right for us regularly.... He didn't in my recollection but guess he was setting the foundation to start him there today!

Well the managers at the clubs they are at clearly disagree

I seriously doubt it's the managers that are deciding these loans... Most these clubs have loan managers, or the u23 managers will handle it.

So when we loan out players like Drysdale Robins has no say? Ok

Is Rooney the only person coaching at Derby?

The players don't go on loan with the expectation that the manager will develop them. They go to build experience by actually playing.

Fair point, but he's the manager so he's the main person involved in their development overall during their time on loan

So you think you are better qualified to make the decision on Man Utd behalf?

Its called an opinion and as far as I'm aware the loans haven't happened yet?

It's also funny because you seemingly always feel qualified to comment on Robins decisions? Didn't realise you were better qualified Grendel!

Insane that clubs like man city are allowed to stockpile so many players that they need a loans manager .

I can't imagine a club like Burnley have or need one , just the ones that are buying up all the talent from all over the world and stockpiling basically 🤮🤮🤮

Is this a serious response? What do you think experience does? It helps players develop? Like I don't know how to respond to this 🤣

Manchester City and Manchester United have people employed purely for the loaning of their u23’s

Yes they do

Chelsea have even got to the point where they’ve loaned one of their coaches out to AFC Wimbledon

Watching Luton vs Peterborough so I can understand why a lot of our posters were jealous of their signings 😎

Yes- they’re not only taking kids young to try and develop, they’re doing the same with coaches and loaning them out to

A well run club will be asking for regular updates on a loaned player and can probably access their match data. They will also have scouts keeping tabs on them.

The parent club will still have an input with the player and a duty of care around the environment he is in.

It is about getting them competitive game time and experience. Also giving them an appreciation that not all football environments are the same. Put their feet back on the ground.

Looking at some of the lineups today and the fans reactions to them, I think some people are seriously underestimating our recruitment this summer.

It hasn't been perfect, far from it, but plenty of teams have done appallingly and so much weaker than last season

I didn't really want to mention it , but we've also got so many players who are going into their 2nd and 3rd , a couple even more seasons together..I like stability
