Just thought first half he wasn’t up to his usual standards, gave the ball away a bit, ran into dead ends. Could say that about any of the front three TBH.

the first half was a non event - I can’t believe Decosta started the game it was a crazy decision. Gyorkes and waghorn are a mismatch - once Walker And Jones came on momentum changes and o hare had space

O’Hare was unplayable in the 2nd half. Was sat behind him when he nutmegged the defender in the build up to the 1st goal. He’d been out on that side tormenting the players out there for most of the half.
Viktor did a lot of ugly work too, that went unnoticed.

what did you make of Moore? (genuine question)

not sure I’d call him a “clear upgrade” yet but looked solid enough to me so far
He looks much better on crosses than Marosi and Wilson, but his distribution was iffy at times.

Maatsen is 19. Stepping up to Championship level in a big occassion game for Coventry City FC. He has a good first touch and did some good things. Maatsen needs time to find his feet at his new club, possibly biggest crowd he has played in front of.

I think Maatsen can settle in and be a good player for us.
I thought he did okay, though I was a little concerned about him being caught out high up the pitch when we were attacking.

Not trying to be critical Herts but Hamer's first half performance and decision making at times was very questionable - as I've always said there's potential there and I want him to succeed. Not writing him off at all.
It was great to see him as part of our second half revival.

did you watch the game?

Just got back, fucking great day. Is Jodie our new lwb ?! Looked the part when he came on, and to think loads were wondering if he was worth a contract ;)

Brilliant to see fans in the ground, great to see us win. Happy days.

so anyone who posts during a game isn’t?
maybe if you focused on the game and had even a vague understanding of football you wouldn't post you usual nonsense during it - you might even learn something about the technicalities of the game vs. jumping on your latest bandwagon or hate figure- right?

others - each to their own - to be fair they show more knowledge with their in game comments.

Grendel’s analysis throughout the game was pretty accurate

That’s what the match thread is for? To post comments whether positive or negative during the game?

Sweet revenge for them mugging us in the 96th last year. Just incredible when the goals went in, the roof came off and a lesson to never leave early at 1-1!

Did we deserve the win overall probably not, CB still sorely needed and Hamer was way off it again. Jones looked sharp though and O’Hare for his efforts in both halves deserves MOM.

We need to get O’Hare on a new, much longer contract ASAP. It’s inevitable we will flog him so may as well maximise the profit

I thought Da Costa at RWB was a good call
But I was wrong ;)

Have we finally laid to rest the ghost of the Biamou backpass?

you know HMS Diamond is actually affiliated to Coventry, she has the cross of thorns onboard from the Cathedral- this cross of thorns very well known in Navy circles , the divers brought it up from the HMS Coventry sunk in 82 …

HMS Coventry the most kills of any modern navy ships - the widow maker until the Argentine got her

of course Platty - I just prefer to watch it - it's an individual choice right.
lots of comments during the game are insightful - some are not and are very reactionary when we go behind..
I think Grendel was very balanced even in the first half. I don’t agree with him on some things but today he was accurate

Not just last year but the amount of time wasting they did it was sweet justice we scored in the 96th.

The noise when we scored was fucking beautiful .

That was an incredible atmosphere , how can you go to that , listen to those fans and not want more PUSB

when that second one went in the whole place went mental, just haven’t seen or felt that in way, way too long.

it makes for a much better atmosphere having our fans closer to the away fans… means the other end looks completely empty but it’s a better setup

Got to say of all the new signings I thought Waghorn looked the poorest. Hope he’ll improve.
