I pretty much forgot about him with all this talk of new defenders. Godden still to come back in as well.

With Godden, Fadz, Kelly and Eccles still to come back it puts us in a better position squad wise. Selfishly I'd still like another 3 or 4 coming in just to give us added quality.

Mom on sunday, and still has the fitness and sharpness to score the Injury time winner when some of forest's youngsters were out on their feet!
His fitness has never looked like an issue which is a huge thing at 35. His pace is his main downside, but play him how we do, and let him head away everything that comes near him and he is crucial to this team.

Such a shame he's not 5 years younger, but he plays the role so well. Of course he has some clangers in him, but him, Rose and Hyam seem so calm and composed at the back for the majority of the time. A really good relationship between the 3 of them really helps.

Outstanding yesterday and, despite the mistakes, we always look better with him in the side.
Was he this good at Burton when they were in the championship?

If ever there was a player who's learned how to play in the Championship it's him.

He was relatively experienced in the Championship having played over 100 games in it. He didn't play League football until he was 25 which may help his longevity

He's the best defender we have especially playing a 3 at the back with him in the middle

He is a proper old fashioned centre-half and leader I thought we should look to replace him but as long as he has pace either side of him will do a job for another season.

He is, loved it when their winger skipped inside Rose, then went past Hamer and Fadz just came racing out the back 3 and clattered him, then just back peddled into position like nothing happened.

sadly think we’ve only got 1 more year of him. Robins post game said he’d been struggling with his levels in pre-season.

absolute rock. He has a moment of madness but generally solid in that 3

Agree other than the another season part, Gary Cahil was still playing premier league football last season, Fadz is good enough to play Championship football for another 3-4ish seasons, unless a bad injury like an ACL 🙂

Not only is he a very good footballer he also has all the intangibles as well. Seems like a built leader and raises the game of those playing with him.

Oh aye he was essential to the title cause in League 1. But because he made about 5mistakes in the first 7 games he got a rep for being shite. People forget Dabo wasn't great first month of that season. 2 OGs against Oxford anyone?

McFadz has been one of our best players since joining the club. A natural leader and calm head. Like all footballers he can make mistakes - but what makes him a good footballer is if he does make a mistake it doesn't effect his game. He just gets on with the job.

Can we stop saying a footballer younger than me is old please. I'm not ready yet.

I had that same moment years ago. Was happily slagging off Danny Maddix for being an old so and so when he was playing for Sheff Wed (I think) at HR, when he was about 34, until it was helpfully pointed out that I was the same age :)
