Yes I heard that too, the club have to back their investment I guess
Sometimes I wonder if a smart non-league manager would be able to just throw a couple of random 17 year olds into first team games and get league clubs to chuck 50k their way for them good or not based on the low risk potential.

Aaron Evans-Harriott... Played in a EFL Trophy game at 16, didn't play again, would he now be playing for Cheltenham first team at 18? I doubt it.
Not saying he's without talent but a long way from challenging for us anytime soon.

Not picking on him, did Coventry have a scout at that game? I'd imagine not. is it purely on a 16 year old in the first team, or did we then watch him play against u18s? maybe, is that enough to make an offer? but the younger and cheaper they are the less diligent we'll be for sure, lots of punts made when buying development players. Sometimes, like Sam they work like a dream other times..... end result we have a number of young players around that have work to do.
I'm not saying its wrong BTW, if you get a Sam every 4 years it could fund the academy for that duration. but realistically most will fall short.

There's a certain portion of the fanbase that just want him to fail which is sad really without giving him a fair chance. After the wolves incident everyone seemed to jump on the bandwagon and assume things. If a few months down the line he lets the club down then fair enough but i say give the lad a chance

If someone comes round and offers to tarmac your drive and then fucks it up straight away, what do you then say when he comes back and promises to fix it if you pay him again?

People are sceptical for good reason and by all accounts it looks like he fucked up at the first opportunity.

You would expect a championship level full time professional player to at least be able to take a throw in, surely. Wouldn’t you?

If your being honest you’d have to at least admit that he’s had a nightmare 2 games so far, It May only be 2 games, but I can’t see him being in the squad ahead of Pask on Saturday, And Pask is more or less in the bomb squad!

In fairness players take foul throws all the time. I’m struggling to recall a ref blowing for it before. Im sure it’s been a bugbear of many of us in the past that it’s a rule that exists but is never enforced?
