The Tavern coach was apparently bottled but this incident was on a different coach. Cov fan had had bottle smacked off his head, didn't smash and was dragged onto the coach before it became worse than it was.

bloody hell, I knew about the Tavern coach. That lot in the video were wrong uns. Little kids there giving it V signs and wanker signs egged on by adults but verbal abuse was as far as it went when we went past but then we knew they'd started attacking coaches behind ours. .

It's what was always going to happen when people have been stuck indoors for over a year. Yesterday was a big rowdy booze up for many. Embarrassing really. Same at many grounds it seems. Same at the final at Wembley last month.

sad really, I was on the booze early but at no point did I decide it would enhance my day if I started causing aggro, was a good day which had a bit of shine taken off it by some of this carry on.
Hope the person who got hit is OK.

Looking at that video, the city “fans” have given the old bill the slip, and been picked up late on, I’d be surprised if that was the first flash point. That lot have ether been in the East Deane or arrived after 14:00 on a coach that’s gone the wrong way. Unfortunately with our Neanderthals if you open your mouth giving it the big un one of them will try to put a fist in it.

It’s crazy how football fans act when they are in a group. Out of that group of lads there’s maybe only one person in there that does actually want to fight, the rest are just posturing and don’t actually want to fight - they just want to look big infront of their mates.

I was taught to always look at someone’s feet (footwork), that’s what tells you whether someone is serious about hitting you. If someone stands flat footed, straight on with their arms out shouting ‘come on you fucking c**t’ 99.9% of the time that person is just posturing.

Sadly I had an incident with two Man City fans on the way to Piccadilly who decided to double up on me. They couldn’t get close enough to hit me and same as this video, didn’t actually want to fight - they just wanted to intimidate myself and others on the train.

The reason they don't actually want to fight is because they'll be on a banning order in weeks if they throw a punch.

It's all a bit embarrassing but 'Mario' is going to be the one in trouble and not the Cov fan who he hit.

I think you’re giving them a get out there mate, that same scenario and behaviour happens in every city on a Friday and Saturday night and it’s always the same craic.

If I felt like I was going to be attacked and couldn’t get out of there I wouldn’t hesitate to hit someone at a football ground or not. But then I wouldn’t go through a town chanting it’s a shithole with my arms out and pretending I want to fight.

I've seen a lot more punches thrown in town on a Friday night than at the football in recent years. Generally, those people get away with little more than a slap on the wrist.

I'm not saying I disagree, there's definitely a huge element of young football fans who enjoy the safety of being behind police lines in a huge group of fellow fans. They know they can get away with shouting what they want.

it's weird because I considered Barnsley a quite friendly away day but there were lots of little flash points yesterday, nothing serious but definitely more of an edge to the day.
Obviously that's just my experience, others might be different.

I see you got your prediction right, Barnsley players to share the yellow cards.

What a bunch of horrible cunts, not just happy with kicking the opposition off the park, they have to resort to Nazi salutes, what utterly horrible human beings Barnsley fans are!

You say they it’s not plural, it’s one disgusting person. Hopefully he can be identified, banned and prosecuted. Football is just a game, if someone’s head is that demented they believe making a Nazi salute regarding a match is acceptable, they should be taken out of society.

unless there are parts of Oakwell in dire need of modernisation I think that all took place in the street

I was on the coach that had the bottles thrown at it, in fact a couple hit the pane of glass I was sat next to.

Usual gestures exchanged and then boooom, a bottle is launched from some distance and smashes against the coach…then another. They were actually launching bottles over their own fans to target us. They weren’t expecting some lads to smash open the fire exit entrance and confront them. A couple of lads went straight into them and it took a few mins to get everyone on…police turned up and we were away quickly. More and more Barnsley fans/lads were appearing so it could have got out of control had plod not turned up when they did.

No police escort for a convoy of maybe 9/10 coaches is incredible really.

Clear lack of police around the ground and in the town centre. Maybe that's why they were so anxious about selling tickets on the day?

Yeh I do believe there was an issue on the day with police resources hence the late all-ticket call.

It’s a deliberate ploy to get people on banning orders, they’ll be trawling cctv this week, then publishing pictures in next Fridays local press. It’s all about revenue raising, let them commit disorder, then fine them and give them hours.

Doesn't surprise me.

So got the full picture of this today, woman and her husband are two right pieces of work and while Robs account of driving the car at supporters is true there was some more shirhousery before that.
Absolutely embarrassed for the people on this thread who were quick to turn on their fellow sky blues to defend her.
I'm an honest guy lol

If only there was some way people could not be violent without a policeman nearby. 🤔
