Oh dear.

From 2012-2013 .🤔

I do find these retrospective actions problematic

Goes without saying it's deplorable stuff and that inclusivity etc was well understood back then , however what gets achieved here?

A lesson of some sort?

I'm amazed that it isn't already standard practice for any footballer to wipe their social media accounts when they join a new club.
Was just about to say the same, should just be obvious to wipe everything that you did before you were in the public eye.

MacAnthony is such a twat too, it's apparently the fault of the person that reported the tweet not his player for sending it.

I'm not defending JCH but it says more about the person who reported comments made by an 18 yo 9 years ago

What's the cut off point for homophobia then? 9 years is fine, is 2 years? How old is it ok, 18 years old fine 21 no chance?

Bloke shouldn't have made the comments, he may have matured now but just delete your socials and you won't have to deal with it.

People use words in front of women and children in public now that I wouldn't have dared to use when I was 18, admittedly 60 years ago. There again some of the attitudes, words and phrases that were common currency then are totally unacceptable today. Attitudes change. We all expressed views when we were 18 that we might not hold now. We mature and learn to tolerate and respect others. There's no cut off time. If JCH stands by now, what he said then, he deserves criticism, otherwise apologise and move on.

I don't disagree with any of that. Just think talking about whoever reported is deflection.

It's not deflection, just that I'm suspicious of the motives of someone who reports an 18 yo for something he said 9 years ago. It's hardly current.

its like the Ollie Robinson debate when tweets were saved up to use when he made it

Yeah there's obviously some weirdos out there that want to get at people in the public eye. That's why I said I'm astounded they don't just wipe their socials, especially if they know they've had some odious opinions in the past.

Exactly. I believe that some employers look at social media of job applicants to make judgements on the sort of people they are.

I wouldn't be suprised if there's shit loads of players furiously deleting social media posts and accounts as we speak.
I'm just off to delete my porn hub history 😱
Someone recommended using private browser mode to watch pron to me once.....

Sorry if this has been covered earlier but what's happened to Liam Walsh? Not even in the match squads for Swansea...
If injured again I'm glad we didn't sign him...

I thought MacAnthony's response was wholly proportionate and correct. Trawling old social media for past sins is a modern day Spanish Inquisition. The person scouring the net for an inapproproate comment by young, immature men is the twat here, not MacAnthony

Jak Hickman signs for St Patricks Athletic of the Irish Premier League after being released from Bolton

I talked to a number of clubs in England, but when this opportunity cropped up, I couldn't pass it up......wonder who the clubs in England were if he couldn't pass St. Patrick's up?!

Him and Bayliss havn't played much football since the infamous holiday, at least Bayliss has earnt a few quid while sat in the stands.

Be interesting to hear their thoughts on how they feel their careers have gone since leaving us.
