I've been critical of him and still think there's things he can work on but my word he was phenomenal second half.

Just like Forest and Barnsley game, stepped up after the break.

He wasn't frozen out at any point? He got injured for 3 months, but when he was fit he was almost if not always involved in the squads.

7 games total, 3 in one block and two blocks of two he was on the bench and didn’t get on. Every other game he was fit he was on the pitch. “Essential” Kelly also on the bench unused 7 times.

It’s just people seeing what they want because they’d made their minds up about him.

Brilliant so far this season. Kelly and James were good at the end of last year as they dug in, kept it simple and did a job. But with Hamer and Sheaf in there we move the ball so much quicker and are much better technically. Shame on me for thinking James would be a better signing this summer.

3 games in so far but if sheaf keeps this up he’ll be a man in demand next summer. Showed he has the tools last season, and now he’s using them. He’s going to be a class act

Phenomenal today. Bossed the midfield, his passing was unreal. Boy has come good!

Certain players had to make a difference this season to push us on. Sheaf was one that needed to improve and grab a starting spot. His performances so far are showing why he was highly thought of at Arsenal. He will have a dip in form, but he has definitely made a few other conversations go away and shown more than a few on how good he can be. Lots of room yet, looks like his head is in the right place.

It's a squad game now so getting players back of the level of Kelly, Walker, Rose, JCS and Eccles is going to be so important. All will be used at some point and fighting for a spot is never a bad thing if you want to compete at the top half of the league.

Also Allen looks to have bulked up a fair bit and seems a different player, credit to him.

Mwaaah… he was average…

No really he was top drawer today. Really enjoyed him and Hamer running the middle. Didn’t seem to change his game when he went deep.

Enjoyed today!

A vast contrast between Allen and Shipley. Allen has come back and taken his opportunity in the best way possible. Shipley hasn't and never will in my opinion. I suspect if Kelly and Eccles were already fit he would have gone

In fairness, Grendel does it plenty to him too.

He does. I’ve pointed this out before but the one thing about that is, Grendel never makes out he’s a victim or an angel. In essence he owns his grumpy, moany persona. DT always makes out he’s some victim and has been targeted despite him starting the digs regularly. As bad as each other but one at least doesn’t pretend he’s something he’s not. Would be great for Grendal could admit he was wrong about Robins, DT admit that Biamou wasn’t the best finisher or athlete at the club and we can get on with our lives.

Perhaps he still could use his time out of the side to do that.

If Ben Sheaf is the Kaiser, can I nominate Da Costa for Khasi (although as I want all of our players to do well. I'll reserve that title until he's moved elsewhere) Apologies to sky Blue Pete in advance!!

His stats from yesterday are unreal. Clear man of the match, not sure what game Andy Turner was watching he gave him a 7 and summed up his performance as "Steady"

Can I give an honest assessment of yesterday's performance.

First half he looked OK but quite sloppy at times .
Second half was brilliant , his little nutmeg was very "arsenal"

Correctly given MOTM for his overall performance
