Great option to have to come off the bench or start other games depending on the system robins picks would keep him now he's showing his promise

He has always offered something to the side. Last season he was one of the few who made runs in to the box. His energy and work rate also are a real asset.

Think he may have been carrying an injury last season, and came back to early ( just like Godden).
Hence neither of them were in a position to show what they were capable of.

Be interesting to see how many of the waghorn haters felt the same about McNulty…..

Last year he was deployed as one of the defensive midfielders a few times iirc? Definitely not the role for him.

That’s where he played yesterday…

I’ve always liked Allen’s energy, but last season he wasn’t getting goals or assists and if he can improve this, he’ll be worth keeping around - for sure!

The last three games he'spositively impacted all of them. Can't ask much more from the lad at the moment.

He will never get in ahead of Sheaf or Hamer but if he's happy for a squad role he's startling to look like an important player to have around.

In the last year of his contract isn't he? Would be interesting to see if we offer him an extension or if he'd rather be a starter at L1 level on slightly less.

It's a good job he's found his feet again as let's be honest , he will take brights place when we play 2 attacking midfielders

Always rated Jamie Allen was seen as expendable in the summer by a lot of the “experts” on here thankfully not by Mark Robins. Think some fans forget how well he quietly played alongside Liam Walsh promotion season. He always had energy to burn covering every blade of grass most matches he featured in but yesterday showed attack and drive against on paper a decent ‘Boro midfield. Another player giving MR a nice selection headache. Continues as he has played in matches so far this season what a boost. With the likes of Sheaf & Kelly on the bench and young Eccles to come back and Jordan Shipley in reserve what a range of options we have in midfield.
