That was fair because we were in League 1 and even though they didn’t work out they came from and had played at comparable levels

The 3.Liga is in no way comparable to the Championship

I think everyone agrees Hilsner is the oddest abroad signing. Even at the time people questioned it.

Da Costa kind of makes sense, I seem to remember Badlan saying when we signed jobello that a lot of the talent in Ligue 2 is comparable to the championship or something along those lines, as he linked it back to Leicester with Mahrez and Kante.

Also did I imagine Da Costa being linked with Leeds before us? Likely just typical agent talk but seem to remember him having links to Leeds for some reason.

I wouldn't have thought even 4 figures for that level really, but with clubs like Salford in it now who knows

It definitely would be four figures. If you listen to the Hard Truth Podcast the Bradford CEO was recently a guest and he stated that around £1k - £2k pw was the going rate in the division however there are that are a fair few that would be paid even above that. He actually mentioned they previously had players on the books that were on between £3-4k which may be the case for some of the bigger clubs in the league still.

Tbf I think in league 2 you will find huge disparity in the league (probably not as huge as the championship mind you with the likes of us compared to Sheffield United mind you)

But like you say the average wage at Salford is probably very high but when compared to the like of Newport county for example or a Stevenage. Although now I write this it's the same in all the divisions. I can only imagine the likes of Ipswich's wage bull against Morecambe in league 1.

The average wage in the NL at the full time professional clubs apparently is between £600 and £800 per week. Non full time pros it’s between £200 and £400

According to a couple of QPR accounts on twitter Todd Kane is close to joining us.

Not sure on this one, seems like he's a bit of a dick. I think we have enough at CB now anyway, unless Rose or Clarke-Salter are out for a bit.

Must surely mean Pask is off. Or maybe Dacosta.

How do you know that, I know a QPR fan who rated him as a decent player

Reading all the comments by their fans etc. They’re not positive. But I think that’s mainly his history with the 7 match ban and attitude with team mates. I have to say however, looking at his stats they’re not bad. Has goals and assists in his locker.

I know we really need some back up for lwb and general defensive back line, but I'd seriously rather take Crainie or Souare than him. I know there is no resale value, but I think we have enough of a job on our hands hammering Bright into shape without having to send players on equality awareness courses as well...

I’m not excusing his part in whatever outburst he said to the Spanish lad but reading things about it seems admittedly it’s in his opinion it was six of one and half a dozen of the other. Whatever if does become a Sky Blue for me he comes with a clean slate.

I have a QPR supporting mate who text me saying apparently TK is coming to us, and said avoid at all costs, total c**t.

Can only assume AV is pushing for him because of the Chelsea links.

Maybe players like him just need a fresh start elsewhere to focus on football. If his actual ability isn’t in question and he’s prepared to work hard here there is no issue.

I have QPR mate who reckons he’s okay, which one do you believe ?

I think he's mostly a right back, who can cover CB.

So is Dacosta being bombed out? Is one of the CBs injured? Pask off?

LWB seems a much bigger priority, hopefully we sign someone there too if we do sign Kane.

Doesn't sound like it is work rate that's the issue. I find it a bit concerning if we are contemplating this move.

Could get him on the cheap, not many would want to touch him and it would be a well needed fresh start for him...if he´s cheap enough maybe Robins and the board can squeeze a leftback in as well. Spirits are probably pretty high in that boardroom right now and we could also be close to moving some of the deadwood on before the window closes...

QPRs forums seem to be as pissed of with Sergio Canos as they are with Kane... apparently it all started w Canos calling Kane "an english diver" and Kane responded w something similiar. Then Canos runs to the ref.

Sergio Canos

Regarding comments on his teammate it wasn´t THAT bad...just seems to be a competitive lad :

Of course, you always need competition because someone's always gonna be there to take your shirt. Say, for example, I've got Ozzy in front of me. I'm 27, I know the game inside out, I know that, no disrespect, I'm a better player than him. With my experience, the way I can play...I take it on the chin, it is what it is, but realistically I aint getting a club putting in a £13m bid to go to Sheff Utd for nothing. You know what I mean? When somebody is playing in the Scottish second league. No disrespect to him, but it puts a bit of fire in my belly."

He was Chelseas youth captain so probably rather vocal. Can play all across the back AND Centermidfield according to QPR fans.
Viveash, JCS and Dabo would know him well. Played in Holland and has had a decent career. Mboro where in for him before Qpr signed him. Fans seemed extremely pleased when they got him for free. 30 games 2 goals 3 assists last season.
Could actually be a steal if he´s cheap... which he should be..,and the guy REALLY wants to play, unlike others at our club.

To be honest he would be ideal to sit on the bench, but would he be happy to do that?
He would be in the same situation here as he is there, and his attitude is questionable, and he could cause problems in the dressing room. It's a tough call, and there wouldn't be much of a sell on value, so hardly fits our profile.

How do you know his attitude is questionable ?

Don’t see this one. Need a left footer or a CB who can do the Fadz role, don’t play with fullbacks and he seems a bit of a prick.
I dont even know how reliable the original rumour was, probably interweb bullshit.
Any player who is, or ever was on Chelsea's books is fare game in the rumour making circles.

So Roy Keane had a bad attitude then. I don’t know the circumstances or how the press picked it up, he may have been correct.
Keane, Stam and Ince were all bombed out of Old Trafford by Fergie over their attitudes, all thought they were the governor, but Ferguson knew different.
Cross Sir Alex, and your gone!

The difference is Sir Alex had the money to replace them, most championship clubs cant just splash the cash when a player steps out of line (Bright for example, allegedly)

It speaks volumes that Todd Kane is now out of the scene at QPR, and available for loan or transfer, despite once being a 13 million pound player. (If you believe the press) But I doubt he will find many clubs prepared to match his current salary, so expect him to stay put until his contract expires.

Viveash, Dabo and Clarke-Salter surely would give Robins some hint of who he is as a person, maybe even Maatsen.

Dont think we would be in for him if he wasn't ok'd by them.
Seems like a strong competitor to me.
We need more of those in the squad and less L1 material. The amount of deadwood we carry is remarkable but that's what you end up with if you dont take your chances. Kane is proven top half championship material.
