First half I thought everyone played well. Gyokeres was a real handful and Waghorn looked on his game.
I thought taking them both off was bizarre and a gamble that didn't pay off.
Towards the end the team looked disjointed and mistakes were all over the place.
I'd probably say Moore, Dabo and Gyokeres were the pick of the bunch.
Clarke-Salter looked improved from his first game, before he tired, and Maatsen looking sharp. Just needs to do better with final delivery.

Moore, gyo and mcfadz had a great game.

O'Hare, maatsen and hyam not so much.

The striker changes made us just weaker.
Honestly not much more to say than this. O'Hare was alright, but felt like his head dropped when we couldn't take the chances he created.

Finishing needs to improve ASAP. As does crossing, poor from Dabo and Maatsen. We threw away a point today by not being clinical.

Moore - 7 - Can't really mark him down for the goals, some good saves.

McFadz - 6 - Weird free kick first half I think, overall good.

JCS - 6 - Much more assured.

Hyam - 5 - Got out fought on a few things possibly at fault for one of the goals.

Maatsen - 5 - Brave going forward, as in, he always seems to be the furthest player forwards. Not sure he does defending.

Dabo - 7 - Better than McCallum. Some of his crosses were shite.

Sheaf - 5 - Not great today. Untidy and ineffective long balls.

Hamer - 6 - Some decent use of the ball. Marginally better than Sheaf and some decent athletism. Should have went for the bottom corner first half.

COH - 5 - Not at the races today, particularly second half, maybe still feeling the effects of first half injury.

Gorky - 7 - An absolute unit. Great signing.

Waghorn - 6 - Best game I've seen him so far.

Allen - 5 - Ran around a lot. That attempted switch of play second half made me cringe.

Walker - 5 - Cut a frustrated figure with his body language.

Godden - 5 - Won some headers and tried to be a target man. Probably still a bit off the pace.

Robins - 6 - Went for an extreme change of the forward line. Didn't work. Sheaf at CB didn't work. Should have just made some new legs for JCS.

Ref - 7 - Let a lot go for both sides. Missed a few yellows, but he did for us. Best ref of the season so far.

QPR - 7 - Best team we've played so far. Thought Chair would be their best player. It was Willock and Johannsen. Dykes changed the game when he came on too.

Agree with a lot of that, thought Fadz was poor the last half hour and Dabo and Maatsen were a 6 as was Walker who at least got involved. Don’t remember Godden touching the ball. Sheaf probably a 6 until he dropped back as well, got forward well at times and used the ball intelligently.

One can only assume Gyokeres came off for fitness/tiring reasons... Hindsight is 20/20 but I was surprised with the double change.

Be interesting to see who will be the regular partner for Gyokeres from September.

Gyo going off was the game changer. It meant that they (QPR) felt that they could push on knowing that we didn’t have an aerial target man to build a long ball break around.

it’s all about small differences at this level.
Agreed, The game was over when Gyo went off.
He has to be the main man now, but Waghorn isn’t the best partner for him.

O'Hare does so much work for us, he's really is the beating heart of the team at times, but I also think he is often at fault for the attacks not panning out. He played a couple of good final balls today, but too often they are to the wrong place, or just too hard etc. Don't get me wrong, I think he's great, but this is the most frustrating thing for me!

Completely different ratings for first and second half.

Generally ok but some shockers in the second half from Maatsen, Sheaf, JCS and Walker.

They were just a better team in the end.

Moore 7, felt sorry for him was very good
Dabo 7 had a stormer
Maatsen 5 effort good improving shooting pathetic
Mcfad 7, tired towards end but a rock and key to us
Hyam 6 did well
Clarke salter 6 looked composed , unfit crap after 60mins is poor
Hamer 6 some good some bad set pieces rubbish
Sheaf 7 makes team tick got sloppy and didn’t want to play in defence frustrated
Ohare 6 so much talent but frustrates
Gyo 8 immense shift
Waghorn 6 we need him to be clinical

Allen ineffective
Godden miles off pace
Walker embarrassing

cannot believe we lost the game we blew chances first half have to be ruthless, 2nd half stopped looking a threat I felt we were under no pressure game went when gyo went off what a player if he wasn’t injured robins has dropped a bollock, Waghorn isn’t a fit in this team walker or Godden have to play with gyo, I was shocked at how good he is. Robins had a poor day 2nd half and we chucked it in when they scored, the bench is worrying. I’ve seen enough to think we are a good mid table side we made them look stupid at times, bids will come for Dabo in jan, McFadzean won’t do the whole season he’s key to our team, Moore looks excellent and I think sheaf is decent. Hamer frustrates and O’Hare needs to grow up a bit such a diva, I’m gutted and angry but pleased we are a decent championship side we just have to have more belief on the road pusb

I think that's fair actually forgot Sheaf had to go at CB and I think that was when he was not at his best.

Godden was trying to do the target man thing, think he touched the ball less than Walker but looked up for it. Maatsen I like, but he's certainly very gung-ho.

Agree with pretty much everything. We need guile and nous at this level. It's almost as if QPR let us attack relentlessly (half expecting us not to convert our chances) and waiting for us to tire before going in for the kill.

I think Godden is best when we’re higher up the pitch or have Györkeres on who can make it stick, same as Walker TBH though Walker seems to drop back and chase better. I think the main takeaway today is don’t take Györkeres off if you’re not on top, he drags us up the pitch so we’ll.

Subs cost us the game today, may have nicked it if Waghorn and Gyo stayed on

Poor decision from Robins

Agree, he runs as if he s in quicksand, not good in the air.
I ve still an open mind on him but its closing rapidly.
I m hoping he s trying to play himself into fitness.

Didn't he have Cov-id. I have seen him win his share of headers, but his game is playing off the shoulder. Needs to be alongside either Gyo (or Waghorn)

You have to question whether a tiring Gyokeres and Waghorn will have less energy / sharpness than two strikers lacking game time. Totally understand if done so in the last 10 or 15 like Godden's cameo last week but not after 60 minutes. I could understand more so if we had a midweek match but they have a week to recover. Godden and Walker can get some match fitness for the U23s in a few days.

Based on what?
Based on the 30+ games we've watched him play for us.

He doesn't hold the ball up, he doesnt run the channels, his link up play is pretty average, however he has proven he can finish when he gets a chance in the 18 yard box. He offers the least out of all our strikers in terms of general play, but he can finish. And his career record shows he has goals in him.
