Gyo you could easily hold on to until the summer and add a few million on to the price in the process. Hamer less so, he'll only stay beyond the summer if we do the unthinkable

He won't be going anywhere in January unless we get a bonkers offer like that in the OP. Even then I'd think twice given that everybody would know we were in for a striker and had money to spend

Oh no not Jan, didn't read .. I expect bids in the summer will be plentiful if he bags 20 this year and only being 23 .

He has so many valuable assets

He might have been promised a move if a massive club comes in for him and who’d begrudge it

If the home crowds keep up at the 20k levels (should be more for the Derby, WBA and Blues games coming up) then the club are raking in profits and surely that alleviates the necessity to cash in. Carry o at the right end of the table, the crowds will hold up and the value of the players maintains/increases. That scenario doesn't leave the club in a position where they have to sell in the January window by my reckoning? Not saying they won't, but I would have thought that 20k plus crowds should be generating a cashflow profit.

Ollie Watkins was sold for nearly £30 million just after he scored 25, and had 3 years left on his contract. If Gyo gets close to that then it isn't that ridiculous to think you could get offers north of £20m in the summer.

Derby who we have at home after Fulham are proving very difficult to beat also and that siege mentality being created there probably adds to it. Every win in this league is hard earned

This should only happen with MR's full approval. Sends out the wrong message to MR (from above), unless he is allowed to use that money (or a good chunk) to develop the team. as I would think there will come a pivotal moment where if he feels his on pitch work is being compromised, it will make the 'I've taken us as far as I can' point comes. He will definitely become the target for relegated teams (e.g. WBA, Norwich, if they decide to ditch their managers). He may make the move, regardless. I just find it disheartening as a fan to look at how everything will unravel at a point when we are having our day in the sun. Hopefully the club are future proofing for such eventualities.

Which is why we shouldn't jump at a relatively low offer at the first opportunity. His value is hardly likely to drop. Prolific goal scorers at this level are like hens teeth

We needed Fergie time to beat both Forest and Reading, Moore's ridiculous triple save kept it at 0-0 against Boro, Collins' howler for Cardiff etc. We're there on merit so far but a moment's complacency and we'll come down to Earth with a bang

It will be the acid test for whether the owners continue not to mess around with the running of the footballing side of things or whether they jump at the first 8 figure bid we've had since Robbie Keane

It’s an opportunity as is always is. Selling to cover debt is disastrous. Selling to run the club and increase the wage bill and invest in some more young and upcoming players

The owners puts investors first and the club a distinct second. If a huge upfront cash offer came for any player it would be failing it it’s primary objective of putting the bankers of the club first

From a business perspective they'd be crazy not to accept that kind of money.

Not sure about that. Depends on the interest rate on the debt and the appreciation rate of the asset.

We’ve seen many a time the club make less than it could have by accepting the first offer it gets.

I can’t think of any example other than Clarke Harris where there is evidence we lost out
