I think he scored on his debut for every team he played for.
One of only a handful of players who have represented England at every level - Schoolboy, U18, U21, Senior. I think I'm right in saying he also scored on his debut in all of those levels too.
Absolutely phenomenal footballer. So sad how he was affected by the stroke in his later years.
RIP, Jimmy.

Great sense of humour and probably got on the end of a wrong pick for Ramsey for England - brilliant Documentary on him on one of the channels

Sad loss Greavsie. Great player, superb pundit. Warm memory of the banter he had with Snoz & George in the Cup year.
Weird coincidence that Spurs are playing chelsea today
And to think, our own Jonn Sillett played in the same team as Greavsie at Chelsea.
And yes how apt that fixture should fall on today of all days.

Documentary on Netflix is very good, what a goalscorer he was, he seemed to glide past players. Never came across as bitter that he missed out on final in 66. A real legend of the game, RIP Greavsie

Only ever saw Greaves on film and it always looked so effortless to him, he would surely have set the record for England goals with more starts.
I saw John Challis being interviewed by Nick Owen on Midlands today a couple of months back and he seemed like a really nice bloke, so good as Boycie in only fools

Barry Ryan who with his brother sang Eloise, a great song of the time.

Yes, loved that, even though it wasn't 'my' genre. Always remember seeing Paul & Barry's mum Marion in panto (aladdin I think, but not sure) at Cov Theatre (must've been very early sixties, or even fifties). Fell in love with her there!
RIP Barry.

Just noticed that Colin Pratt, who died a few days ago, hasn't been mentioned yet.
You'd need to be a speedway fan to know who he was, but he was important at Brandon and one or two other tracks.
Good man too.

Cradley Heath as well, wasn't it?

Brandon still sits empty and decaying, of course:mad:
