Had a quiet half but id say that Thorn has probably seen enough to give him a contract. Otherwise I imagine he'd have started

agreed, but it does puzzle me why he didnt play barton and jennings if they are to be out CM pairing !

Someone check on Brinner...i think he's half asleep under the burger van, covered in cider smelling vomit, singing the Skyblue's song

Yep.

Anyone can beat anyone in football.

Or maybe we are a better team than Man U cos we beat them in the cup that time?

I still say top 6 as this is not as strong a league as some think. Not a walkover, but think we are going to have fun.

Time for the serious stuff to start now.

I've seen nothing this pre season to suggest we will automatically go back up so I maintain we will reach top 6 and with a bit of luck go up via the play offs. I'd certainly be surprised if we earnt automatic. That is unless AT is just toying with us and what I've seen this ore season is different to the team and style when it matters.

Time will tell

And as I said before, we need to come out of the blocks firing.

It is a marathon not a sprint. We have about the strongest squad. The longer the season goes the more injuries and suspensions come into it.

I would tend to agree, but if we have a poor start, mid-table after 15-20 games, some serious questions will be asked about replacing Thorn.

That is about 10 miles into the marathon so agree. Have said all along that we need to be top 6 by Xmas or AT needs to be replaced.

Burton are no mugs. They've been building from what Clough left, and what he left was an extremely healthy football club.

Although its weaker opposition you have to consider that our players will not be going flat out to beat these teams in a friendly. Also some of the opposition will fancy us as a scalp, such as Nuneaton etc, and so have a go at us and bring a bit more motivation and effort.

We won't really know until it counts.

But we sound like we're playing better footy at least
