Tough game tbf. Blackburn hard to predict as a side but our old manager will set up to stop our attacking flair on the breakaway. He just has not produced a good side in years. Always promising but not delivering, and I think it's the same here. A draw looks the most likely result but hoping we can sneak it away from home and start to cement the early season start as no fluke.

Mowbray teams are usually quite attacking aren't they? He's not renowned for solidity. They've only kept 2 clean sheets all season.

Yep.
5th in the league for Goals Scored & 3rd for xG last season, 4th & 6th in same metrics so far this season.

The difference is last season they relied almost solely on Armstrong for goals/shots.
He scored 43% of all their goals & his chances alone made up 39% of their total xG!
He also missed 23 'Big Chances' which was the most in the league.

Ironically selling their talisman may have actually made them into a better side & shows that cashing in on an asset isn't always the catastrophe fans think (also see Coutinho leaving Liverpool etc).

Brereton out for them and the Blackburn forum is concerned who will score their goals. We're missing God so.... oh, yeah, we've got the league's 2nd higher scorer in our team.

We're on a roll at home, scoring for fun. Team playing with confidence and flair. It's just so frustrating that we aren't able to play the same away from home.

On paper, this is stacked in our favour. One of the best defensive records and one of the most prolific attacking setups in the Championship vs a team who are playing well but haven't defined their identity without Armstrong yet. What could possibly go wrong ? 🤣 So I'm going to continue to back the opposition as it's worked at home every game this season ;)

1-0 Blackburn and as they are currently devoid of players who can hit the net, I'm predicting a McFadz OG as the only goal of the game.

Think the goal scoring stat is being replicated this season but for Armstrong, write in Brereton-Diaz. So it can be ignored for this game as Brereton (9 goals this season) is out according to the Blackburn forum and without him, there is a long gap to their next goalscorer, Gallagher with 3.

I imagine they’ll be missing Brereton Diaz seeing as Chile have a game on Friday morning.
Yes, they play at 1AM our time Friday morning, (4 hour time difference), 14 hour flight from Chile apparently, and they played in Peru last Friday who are still red list so I imagine he will need to complete his 10 day quarantine, although not sure about whether he will be exempt from that.

1 win, 1 draw and 3 losses away from home so far. With 2 away games in a row coming up I am a little worried as the away form is not good.
1 win 1 draw from the next two and all of a sudden it doesn’t look too bad

They’ve scored in 10 of their 11 games. Both teams scored in 9 (highest in Championship)

Dont often get this feeling and when i do im usually wrong. We will smash them.

Moore
Kane RWB
Hyam
Mcfadz
JCS
Dabo LWb
Hamer
Kelly
Allen/ (Waghorn if fully fit from covid)
Ohare
Gykores

Think we will keep it tight ease our way into the game.
Waghorne has been training all week so should be available
Think Hamer is still feeling injury from luton but hopefully will be okay
Couple of other players have been missing training this week
Can see us having to see who is available on Saturday to what formation is played

Assume you’re not including Gyokeres in that?

It’s the sort of fixture that you would want after Mowbray cooks their Xmas dinner.

1v1 and a shock goal scorer in O’Hare.

In my older lads class there are quite a few going down with Covid, me and the little lad were very nervous waiting for our results tonight.

Although they are missing Brereton, I think I read somewhere that their two best defenders, who missed the last couple of games (they didn't win either I think) are back for Saturday.....

Will be tougher that a few are anticipating I think.
Are people saying it's going to be easy?

In my view it's a difficult game, especially with our away form.

Looks like they have an illness in the camp and haven't ruled out including Brereton in the matchday squad!!

It's a difficult game, they all are (without wanting to sound like I'm just copying Robins). It's the most competitive league in the country. It's not unreasonable to consider that them potentially missing players that contributed 68% of their goals this season might be beneficial to us.
