We're 4th

Should be joint second - Hull will be a game we should win - we are now 3 points of 11th

Think Luton did something to the players mentally TBH.

Blackburn we went to pieces after their first and conceded again. Without that we’d probably have gone on to win it.

Preston we seemed to bottle it second half and go for the 1-0, same yesterday at home in front of a big crowd.

Just a lack of belief each time really.

that’s such illogical reasoning - we have one point out of 6 through poor tactical decision making - that’s nothing to do with being a mid table team

Maybe we should sell Walker to one of the long list of championship clubs gagging to sign him, so we can reinvest towards keeping us in the top 6 that was never gonna happen?

That’s what Robins alludes to. Belief

We can and will push for the last couple of playoff spots , it's not just us who have been inconsistent recently either , that's why we are still 4th .

We will have spells in and out of the top 6 in the coming weeks I'm sure

We usually get stronger as the season grows under Robins and I see no reason why this season will be any different

True. And although the table makes healthy reading just now, this is such a huge slog of a season that it’s pretty much meaningless at this stage. Injuries, the January window, our comparatively thin squad, the way hardly any other clubs have consistency either, then our traditional late season surge etc- I’d say that the only thing we can say for sure is that we can potentially challenge for the playoffs, but there will be loads of peaks & troughs, ups & downs along the way, we won’t be 4th the whole way through.

Few things.:

1) Godden and Walker doesnt work at all as a pair. Went to pot at QPR as soon as Wago and Gyro went off. Same yesterday.
We need someone to hold it up. Godden and Walker arnt strong enough to hold it up.

Has to be Vik. With an other. Would have kept on a half fit Vik.

2) 2 strikers away from up top just forsnt work! We arnt good enough in midfield or out wide to cope. Not many teams do it because its fucking suicide.

Its bullshit and complete utter non sense that is as fans insist on 2 strikers away from home Just because we have 4!!!

3) Need to play the box in midfield. Tried and tested with one up front.

Our best performances away fro. Home have all come with one up front@!! Its been fringing obvious for weeks.

Based on poor away

Well you have to admit it’ll be a hard push. I’m just pointing out ‘illogical’ to the illogical.

we would have to get less points going forward per game than we were averaging last season and we finished that season strongly. Derby Preston and out next opponents Hull are not strong teams in this league

We’ll agree that not beating Hull will be our poorest result, Luton aside?

If we have ambitions of top half Hull has to be an away win. After the international break there’s a run of 6 big fixtures - including the top 2

I’d say that’s true about Hull. But I’d also say our ambitions should surely now be higher than just top half?

we should have won our last two games as well - but we should be beating Hull yes

We should be beating Hull, but that doesn't necessarily equate to us definitely doing so. Our confidence will be knocked by the last few games, while we have struggled a little away from home regardless of the last few results. Even in our League 1 winning year we failed to beat Bolton's youth team so there are no definite wins, even in seasons as good as that one. They will see this as an opportunity to turn round their season and I'm expecting this to be much harder than most of our fans will be expecting. The result does feel very important though in terms of our challenging for a top 6 place.

A mention for Blackpool. Up to 11th in their first season back

I wonder if Blackpool approach games with this much respect for the opposition. Ironic coming from me but there needs to be a lot more toughness in our side to respect themselves more and worry less about away crowds or the opposition.

Ooo interesting. In what way? More attacking?

Not more attacking but more confidence to act on his instincts. At PNE and yesterday he was hesitant then ended up making man for man changes which seemed a bit ‘default’.

After Luton he also said there needed to be changes in how we approached away games yet has kept it the same since.

The squad is set to play 3 at the back and that’s not changing.

Dabo is a good enough player but his crossing is poor and defensively he and Maatsen are questionable. The defensive 3 is not quick as a unit either.

It’s fine when we are on the offensive but when momentum goes against you in can go very wrong

So Robins tactics were for Hyam to pass to a Derby player? Ask for Maatsen to blaze the ball over, for Gyokeres to not get a penalty or for Godden to be offside?
I suspect we are a couple of games away from the clarion call for a taxi. The Brighton Sky Blue, Nick and Grendel crew will be ecstatic

You do realise I have not once ‘called for the taxi’.

It’s not the back 5 for me but what’s in front of them.

The subs were his choice however

his tactics were to bring Kelly and Walker on which didn’t work and Hyam is like his Fortune for Mowbray - he’s undroppable

If he’s praised for tactical substitutions that work he can be held to account when not.

For a 10 minute spell it was one way traffic and we should have put the game beyond doubt. That Godden/Gyokeres missed chance was the turning point
That was literally our only chance from open play in 90 mins, before maatsen blazing over in the 93rd.

Pen
Godden header wide from the corner
Godden header chalked off from Hamers freekick.
Our best chances all from set pieces.

We wasted so much good possession in the final third in the first half.

Don't know if it was the same move you're talking about but Roos did tip a good effort from Godden for a corner after a great move, bit of interpassing.

Yes that's the one chance from open play in 90 mins. Hamer wins it O'Hare to Gyo, to godden topped around the post.
