Have you actually watched him try and bring the ball out of defence?
Last season the excuse was he was playing on his weakest side, so what's the excuse this season ?
Yes at times its not been the greatest but its not been poor

Nowhere near the same in ability

no, but I think he understands the role because O'Hare is our best defender and anyone coming in either needs to match his work rate or create and score enough that we can afford to have them slack off a bit when we're out of possession.

Also in what world does anyone expect the player who will spell O'Hare and give him a break to be of the same ability?

The goals from the midfield as always is piss poor. Along with a LWB a goalscoring midfielder is a must, obviously that comes at a price. Not sure why Allen has fallen out of favour again, he was a breath of fresh air when he came back into the fold.

If we clear a lot of the deadwood we may be able to splash a bit of cash. Hilssner, Jobello, Shipley, DaCosta need to get gone.I don’t actually think we need a great deal certainly not our first XI, but if injuries kick in the lack of squad depth is alarming.

Are you okay? I’m asking which midfielders you would get rid in yesterday’s squad as the books have to be balanced and players want to play football, I presume Kelly given he’s the most disposable.
What kind of daft answer is that ? Not saying we should replace any in particular but IMO we need another variety of option who can dominate centre midfield. We have young Eccles back soon he might do the job time will tell on that.

Need

A LWB.
Maybe a young promising centre back from lower leagues (pay a fee for) someone we can develop.

Maatsen after promising game vs Fulham. Looks a fish out of water last 2 games.

We don’t need another striker. More than happy to give Taveras a give him a chance. Rather than bring another 4th or 5th choice in.

Allen is more than capable of giving a Ohare competition/Rest. And in his own right deserves regular game time.

The defence is where the biggest improvement is needed. If we start Dabo, Hyam, Rose and Fadz that is 4 of 5 defenders that came up with us from L1 and L2 and it shows way too often, last season we put it down to inexperience at this level (Fadz has decent experience at this level but you would question it sometimes.), this season, still learning and improving, but we need better if we are seriously trying to push on from where we are.

I think the incomings will be dictated by the outgoings.

De Costa
Shippley
Walker
Jobello
Histlner
Bright

If we could move them on and buy

LWB
ACM
ST (physical powerful pacy in the Gyo mould (Lad from Luton springs to mind)

We would be in a really strong position to push on second half of the season.

Depends on the league position but I think we need three new centre backs for next season, I like Clarke salter he is very calm and gets into good positions. I think we will lose maybe two of Viktor O’Hare and Hamer next summer I can see Norwich being interested for their promotion push.

I can't see any Prem clubs paying for O'Hare unless his end product improves before the end of the season. As much as I love watching him for an attacking midfielder his assist and goal record are below his ability IMO. Gus might attract some attention if he can consistently find his best form. Gyo is the most likely to go as goalscorers are always wanted but we can ask for top money for him as plenty of time left on his contract. We need a left wing back. Would have to be a permanent as clubs aren't going to loan us one with Maatsen already on loan. Other than that any player that improves the first 11 is what we should be looking for.

Lot of things can happen between now and then which could change what the club are willing to do. If we are still in and around the top 10, I'm sure MR will be asking for a few more quality additions to push us on. We have made big strides on and off the field recently and this window will be massive in not only adding quality, but holding on to players like O hare, Hamer and Viktor.

As for those to make decisions on Pask, Hillsner and Jobello are not in that group. They are being pushed to move, nothing changes for them. No matter the clubs situation they are not wanted. If we can somehow get them out the door it will help MR put more into additions or extension of current players.

A player that could make a big difference in decisions on others is Eccles. If he comes back strong with no reaction to his injury before the window opens, he will jump ahead of a few already finding it hard to get game time. Eccles back puts Shipley, Decosta and Allen in a discussion, that will probably end in 1 been allowed to leave or be sold in Jan.

The only other one I can see being sold is Walker, we can get decent money for him and believe use it improve that position.

Rose stays, Drysdale loaned out, Bright will be kicked out and a few sign new deals.

Keep big 3
Get rid of bomb squad 3
Sign a LWB & FW and loan 1 more in position of need
Be nice to sell 2 loan out 1
That would be a good window in my opinion, just hope we are still up there and MR gets backed to push us on.

I think getting some of the fringe / bomb squad out on loan is the key. Even if we don’t get 100% of their wages paid, something is better than nothing.

Shipley needs to go to somewhere like Dundee Utd on loan (get Max or McN to find him a spare bed) and get some games.

Walker is the controversial one. I’m sure a L1 club aiming for playoffs would stump his wages and he needs a run of games and goals to get his mojo back.

The rest on that list have no long term future at the club that I can see.

LWB on loan, yes.
Midfield General, yes.
Big Target Man, yes.

£££?

I reckon we are getting 4000 more through the gate than CCFC bean counters budgeted for. With extras is that £100k per game? 10 games like that makes a difference…..

Very much doubt we will do any significant business in January- certainly not strikers. Robins will have to accept he has 4 Championship quality strikers (whatever we may think) available to him and needs to make that work. Just some players out I suspect.

I think we will see a loan in to compete with O’Hare and Jones loaned out to get him to play football and probably find another club. The decision to retain him looks strange atm - 3 minutes in a game what was already won since the Forest game?
