Wrong dude, just wrong.I bet 10 years ago you were exactly the type to say “I don’t care what they do, I just don’t want to see it”

You're wrong as well.Probably thinks his workplace is woke because he can't tell racist jokes or something.
I didn’t realise being gay and woke were analogous
Telling jokes about Gay and other races is wrong as well. You're wrong as well.
Tbf I wouldn't want to see it, but then again, I don't want to see Mandy and Dave from accounts all over each other either. I think that's what FF is getting at.I bet 10 years ago you were exactly the type to say “I don’t care what they do, I just don’t want to see it”
I didn't either. Tell me why you feel they should be.
If you don’t like seeing two men holding hands then you’re homophobic.Tbf I wouldn't want to see it, but then again, I don't want to see Mandy and Dave from accounts all over each other either. I think that's what FF is getting at.
However this forum seems to enjoy throwing people into homophobic, and racist brackets.

He mentioned that no one in a workplace should discuss or indicate a sexuality, what’s that got to do with engaging in foreplay in public?Tbf I wouldn't want to see it, but then again, I don't want to see Mandy and Dave from accounts all over each other either. I think that's what FF is getting at.

Agreed, and where I work it is quite normal to talk openly about relationships. Contrary to the view of one or two on here I can't stand bullying and accept people for who they are. The chappies on a couple of other posts here may be scratching their heads a bit but that's their problem. Worked in several organisations that actively accept people for who they are and recruit accordingly. It's about the freedom to say you went for dinner with your husband, without having to cover up the gender of your partner, when asked what you did over the weekend.
It's about being able to say freely who you went on holiday with, without fear of recrimination.
It's about being able to take part in normal, everyday chat, without feeling you have to hide elements of your life that heterosexual people don't.
What do you mean by 'there's another 96% who can't be themselves either'?
The workplace has values that people abide by. Anti-bullying, protected characteristics and codes of conduct that help to structure the organisation is a way that enables people to feel welcome regardless of their gender, race, sexuality, disability, ability, health and well-being. Which often means that people are held to account if they show any disrespect to people. The 'neutrality' of the workplace is its strength.
“Woke workplace” = somewhere you can work without being bullied then? The workplace has values that people abide by. Why would you need to indicate sexuality? I don't walk into a new job and proclaim my heterosexuality to the office. He mentioned that no one in a workplace should discuss or indicate a sexuality, what’s that got to do with engaging in foreplay in public?

He didn't mention anything about discussing sexuality. He said he sees no reason why anyone, feels the need to shout about it.

You seem a bit mixed up. Maybe take a break?“Woke workplace” = somewhere you can work without being bullied then?
Backtrack as fuck here
Where in my post or FF's post have we said we don't like seeing either of those things. All that's been said is there's no place for that in the workplace, no matter the sexuality. Keep chucking around the homophobe shite though. If you don’t like seeing two men holding hands then you’re homophobic.
If you can’t ignore two men having a kiss in this street like you can a straight couple then you’re homophobic.
Does coming out really bother you that much? It is sad that you feel that way about an individual being able to live free from prejudice etc. One of my sisters came out at the age of 55. The most frustrating thing about it was that she took until 55 to do it. (A legacy of church, societal norms etc).
I'm guessing he's not a gay professional footballer though so really can't understand the situation Cavallo was in.Why would you need to indicate sexuality? I don't walk into a new job and proclaim my heterosexuality to the office.

Not really. I wouldn't expect anyone to proclaim their sexuality. Whatever their preference. That's kind of the point
Maybe not, however it's most definitely a wider societal problem anyway. There's such a massive thing about 'coming out' and it shouldn't be that way. And hopefully we'll get to a point in society where there's no need to come out. You just are what you are.I'm guessing he's not a gay professional footballer though so really can't understand the situation Cavallo was in.
The you wasn’t really aimed at you more of an explanation of things that are homophobic.Where in my post or FF's post have we said we don't like seeing either of those things. Your points here are making no sense
Agreed, why would anyone feel they need to? Back to football though, I remember Justin Fashanu. It was sad that he couldn't feel welcome in his macho football teams. All wrong then and all wrong now. Maybe football is the last bastion of homophobia? Oh and like you, I understand what equality and diversity in any workplace means. Not really. I wouldn't expect anyone to proclaim their sexuality. Whatever their preference.

I heard the fella on 5 live this morning and could hear the joy and relief in his voice. I think if you've been in a football changing room at any level you can appreciate that it is not the most gay friendly place in the world and that is his job. Of course you are right in what you say in 'you are what you are' but there clearly are some walls that still need breaking down. Football isn't the only one either.Maybe not, however it's most definitely a wider societal problem anyway. There's such a massive thing about 'coming out' and it shouldn't be that way. Isn't it trendy to be gay now?
you so have the wrong end of this. This is not just footballAm I in the minority that just doesn’t care? Maybe it’s because I’m young but I don’t need any of our players to tell me whether they’re gay, straight or anything else. Their sexuality is none of my business and all I care about is what they do on the pitch
you so have the wrong end of this. This is not just football
do you go to work / socialise and said you went out for dinner with your girlfriend/wife, or on holiday or share pictures or any of that?
Agree nobody cares what happens behind closed doors, it is more about being able to be yourself in public
And if you think that then doesnt impact performance on the pitch - if your mind is not in the right place, then your performance will suffer
