Lack of experience, feeling under pressure, noticing the groans/abuse of fans etc.
Agree with the first but do you really feel the others are a factor? As a footballer largely you have to be able to cope with that.

I like Sheaf and feel he could become a really good player, but he does need to learn from his mistakes. I have noticed more though this season his lack of pace. It seems an important time for him now. Could easily end up playing in the Premier league if he learns to release the ball quicker in certain situations.

Sorry but referring to a section of our support, who are willing to support the players despite their mistakes, as a cult is pathetic and shameful

It depends on the level though. Supporting a player on the pitch even if they're playing poorly is great - it's constructive - but if someone on here points out a deficiency a player needs to improve and they get told to shut up and just support the players is cult like. Of course there are some who point out certain players mistakes more than others etc and can be overly critical but if someone refuses to acknowledge any problem then that is not constructive.

Fair from one who is cult like in my love for our playing staff

There is a point to it though, several posters still unable to bring themselves to say sheafs passing almost got us in the shit 3 or 4 times but point out hamer for a couple shit corners

Ironically hamer was rated higher than sheaf everywhere apart from on here , where several posters marked them the same 😁

Both were underwhelming either way

It’s more the use of the word ‘cult’. Not sure where that’s come from but it’s ridiculous to label a section of fans as a cult whatever they believe

Ball was played with pace and was slightly behind him and he still got a shot away that the keeper made a smart save from

Even with the touch I have a feeling Godden will be massively disappointed not to have put it away. He made it very obvious he was going to place it into that corner.

He didn't massively need to worry about the defender behind him, as whilst close he was still in a very awkward position and was more likely to bring him down than make a tackle for me.

Same with Allen in second half. He got ball in box but he knew he wasn't fast or strong enough to do anything other than desperately get a shot off quickly.

Looked at vik straight away and he seemed to think Allen should have reversed the pass back to him, didn't look possible at the time

Sheaf is a young, developing player whereas Biamou was a senior squad member.

Don’t think you can say that about him any more- what is he, 23? He’s also pretty much first choice starter too, was that ever the case with Biamou in The Championship?

Tbf I think if O'Hare had placed it a couple of metre's further forward we'd be wondering if a confused lino would have raised his flag, I think the whole move was bang on from swift accurate passing .

You might be right about an offside being potentially given.

I still think O'Hare's pass was a fraction behind Godden. But Godden's first touch didn't shovel the ball far enough in front of him either.

Anyway this is goddens first touch yesterday , he actually lifts the ball off the floor instead of pushing it forward several yards .. it slowed him down View attachment 22485

I think the ball was fine , he just fucked up the initial touch

I disagree the pass was behind him making slow down, having to swerve his body awkwardly to control with his front foot and having the extra touch, which is why his touch is off. A better ball and and its one back foot touch control then finish or he hits it first time.

Goddens had to almost stop and be side on to control it

And there is no way in this world the lino gives off side if o'hare plays it more in front of him. Goddens about 2 yards on.

I also disagree , it's not behind him , it was the way he pushed it forward that done him , it came up off the floor .

problem with the pass is it was almost as perfect as o hare could manage any further forward it probably hits the heels of the defender Screenshot_20211031-170057_YouTube.jpg

I'm really not wingy, I'm expecting championship quality. 100% at 17 years old Maddison plays that pass inch perfect.

But he's having to slow down, swivel his body and take it with the wrong foot because its behind his run not infront of it.

This gets drilled into my 10 year old who plays week in week out.

Like I said , the main thing that knackered him was the first touch.

The defender was also already in full sprint , at no point was godden in a full sprint

But the ball caused his touch, because he's had to take it on the wrong foot.

O'Hare shouldn't be immune to criticism.

I'd criticise o hare if I agreed with your point .... I don't.

Doesn't help when your number 10 has just 1 in his last 52 appearances. As good as O'Hare is, his goal return is nowhere near good enough.

He’s a good player at Championship level but not one Villa will regret losing. We’ve given him 100 appearances they wouldn’t be able to and his final ball/finishing hasn’t improved in that time
