As most people it was wait until something offical happened before passing judgement, as it's happened now it's such a massive waste on both sides but definitely for the best that we cut our ties with him and hopefully means we get a bit back in budget to bring in some backup for O'Hare in jan

I think the lesson to be learnt is when @better days or @Skybluebeliever say something, it’s more than likely true

Turns out to be bad business I hope it’s not cost us too much, what a waster he’s cost me £10 too prick 🤣 he’s at a club pushing for premier promotion and can’t be arsed

Or just wait until something official is posted before passing judgement (that's just common sense)

But you’re never going to get the details that those posters can give you from the club.

If you choose to ignore the information then fine but you can’t say others shouldn’t

Finally. Pissed off we wasted our time bringing this clown in instead of getting some proper cover for O’Hare. Hopefully we can rectify it in January.
Cover for O’Hare ? Any signings we make in January need to be better than what we have that hopefully will make us a better team.

Positivity egg on face here, I really hoped he would come good but it wasn't to be, definitely the right decision to get rid now and hopefully hasn't cost us too much to do so

Nevermind.

As you say, hopefully there is a bit there for wages to strengthen the playoff push!

Fingers crossed mate, hopefully our January window can be better than our summer one ;)

Just to repost the fact that under Robins we’ve never signed a permanent first team player in the Jan window. It’ll be a couple of loans at best. TBH I agree with the assumed logic thag there’s not many good deals to be had in Jan.

Bright will have got his head together by then, and his agent will work out a deal with Robins for him to sign up for the playoff push...

On loan from Cov United no doubt.
On a serious note if he wants to actually play football between now and January, he'll have to go pretty low thanks to transfer window regs, if nothing else!

Very true but also under robins we haven't really signed numerous experienced players with no resale value before but we did this summer

But I would agree that it'll probably be a young loan from a prem club to cover until we know in the summer what is happening with O'Hare but we still needed wages to be freed up to do this

Thing is, what premier league club would let their player out on loan, knowing that he won't get a look in unless O'Hare's injured?

Chances are we need Jones to step up really - let's hope it's the making of him (again!).

That's very true and hopefully you are right and bright's undoing opens the door for Jodi to have a chance and finally put all those injuries behind him

I was thinking could we find someone who can play AM or one of the CM roles? Might have a better chance of getting a game.

I make a judgement on many players using the same sources I've used to judge Bright, ( certain posters on here, pre and post match chat, interviews etc)
I'm not saying it always right but it's all I've got to go on.

The picture it builds is overwhelmingly positive, unfortunately in this case it wasn't and it turns out to be correct.

Not sure I'd fancy that either tbh. We've got Hamer, Allen, and Sheaf all doing alright there really. Chances are Hamer's off in the summer, you'd think, so we probably need to make sure Allen and Shef are happy to stay (is Allen's contract up this summer?) which means them playing. We'll also have Eccles back by then, and he needs some game time if he's to have a future here.

I'd rather play the long game, and give those players the chance to improve really rather than a quick fix. Those fixes usually don't work out as hoped anyway, so I'd see it as a risk too far... unless Rashford needs more game time, or something!

So it wasn’t character assassination then.

Few apologies in order.

I don't think anyone sensible said it was a character assassination (unless I missed something of course) but it was more wait and see what happened and now it has happened it's definitely for the best all round and when it happens again with another player I'll happily play the waiting game rather than jumping to one extreme or the other until there is tenable evidence

I was wrong, I thought this would be an inspired gamble but I was wrong.
I've learnt the hard way with recruitment as well, if there are any doubts, do not proceed as inevitably flags do come back to bite you.

What a c**t. His career going nowhere, was well happy when he signed (based on footballing ability).

I really hope no one ordered his name on their shirt

I've actually seen a Cov shirt with Bright on the back this season at home games.
Hopefully that's the guys surname...

You'd never sign any player with that attitude though. Every signing is a risk, some more than others though of course. The lesser your budget or further down the proverbial food chain you are, the more risks you have to take.
