That's a pretty limited set of stats though and assists is not really a relevant stat when looking at CBs, even when lookingspecifically at their distribution.

I was mistaken though, it was this season I was looking at and this was from a few weeks back, just found the post I made:

Agreed on Assists completely, just forgot to deselect it when clicking on the passing categories 😁

Yes, this season much much better from Hyam, agreed.👍🏻

Still think Fadz is the most progressive of all, especially playing in the centre, & there's almost once every game where he weights a beautiful ball over the top for one of the strikers.

I know I was fairly in the minority to be hugely enthused by the JCS signing but, as well as being great himself, he also has helped Hyam & the team better than Ostigard by providing that balance.

Rose has even better stats in terms of progressive passing. Fadz passing completion is better but Rose long range passing and number of forward passes per 90 minutes is far superior.

He's done well when you consider he came here in league 2 as a development player.

But I would say hes the weaker of our 4 CH options, and I have to hold my breath when he attempts to bring the ball out of defence, (no amount of stats will ever make him look comfortable on the ball)

But as we sit 4th in the league and he's been an integral part of our back 3 I will say he's earnt this new contract, and good luck to him.

I think that’s a fair assessment

What I think is often overlooked as a huge plus with Hyam is that he is almost always fit/available. How many games has he missed due to injury, illness or suspension? I can only think of one period and that was when he was hit by a driver doing a 100mph. Same can't be said for any of our other options.
I think Rose is seen by many as the better player, and he potentially is, but he seems to be benefiting from the fact he has barely played, which is odd. I like Rose but he has yet to show he is able to consistently step up to the level. (Not saying he hasn't had good appearances)

Agree to disagree. On their day those three are all good enough, but this level is about having majority “on their day”s. Sheaf for me reminds me of Liam Walsh when he first started. Just needs confidence and experience at this level to iron out his casualness on the ball (and he’s already improved) but he generally performs at the right level outside that.
Walsh took 2 games to get going, Sheaf approaching number 52.....

Godden and Hyam hugely positive news

Do you think a lot of clubs would be ready to grab them as free agents out of interest at championship level? If of course they thought they could do better they wouldn’t have signed. I see it as news not positive or negative

Ok. Hyam definitely and if godden continues his scoring form and gets 15 or so this season absolutely too

Or alternatively they could be sold to top end L1 clubs in the summer which with expiring contracts would otherwise not have been likely.

why do you think they wouldn’t get other championship clubs? They are both performing well in the championship for a team in the top 4. Your logic makes zero sense

Cannot complain that a player that’s been a regular with us for 4 years now is secured.

Still need to be better on the ball and work out when he’s playing someone online or not.

Very much better on the right of the three though.
Monitor his pc/phone?

Must admit i never thought he would prove himself at this level. Just keeps on improving.

Hopefully he kicks on more. Dont think we would have offered another contract unless theres more developement.

Just a decent all round centre back. Fully deserved.

Gets better every week. Carrying the ball out at pace and has improved his passing. I've never seen such an impressive looking vegan, fine specimen of a man.

Always been a fan but thought he was outstanding today and my MOTM.

One of the first names on the team sheet

Bar a mad few game spell in the middle of last season where he made a load of gaffs he’s been consistent for 5 seasons. What a signing.
