Spurs did some research on U23 games during Tim Sherwood's time
Apparently virtually no players who play more than 19 U23 games while in the eligible age group end up having a career as a pro footballer

Not that surprising really

It’s a wind up account but I have seen some say drop Walker for him

Indeed. I know far more about football than anyone who would suggest such a thing.

In seriousness and I know it’s said all the time, surely this is doing nothing for Tavares’ development and he needs a loan into league 2?

Yes he won’t be getting near our first team no matter how many he scores at that level.

You would expect a young player who’s played decent amount of senior football to be doing well, Eccles came back from Gillingham and was walking through 23s games

The eligible age group meaning 21+?
Here's a good interview with Tim Sherwood on the subject
Pretty enlightening

It is. I’m sure we would like to loan more out but the issue is the lack of players and balance, which a big club like Spurs won’t have to worry about.

The ones they have hopes for will be loaned out early or in the first team. Howley will be the next I think
