Im quite excited about going to the game tonight and I think we could get a good result... Having said that I've only seen the City win away from home once! On top of that reading the BBC build up match facts:

Head-to-head
This is the first ever meeting of Dagenham and Coventry.
Dagenham own an unwanted 100% record in the League Cup, having lost all five previous ties since 2007.
• John Still's side have been drawn at home for the first time in four years.
Knocked out by League One clubs in each of the last two seasons.

This just feels like one of the situations that we will loose! (standard City fan optimism).

Oh sod it 3-1 to the City!

without knowing the side we are putting out impossible to predict.

Having seen this quote on the CET this morning:

“Of course our main aim to get promoted but our supporters haven’t had much to cheer about over the last few years so a decent cup run would be a great way to bring some pride back to the club,.

“We are aiming to go as far as we can – we want to make some progress and get a few big teams up at the Ricoh. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves but Dagenham are a good side and anything less than our best won’t be good enough."

Would suggest that we should field a decent side tonight, obviously don't know what the exact team will be but I'd be surprised if we didn't see most of the first team there this evening after coming out and saying that...

Not sure we should be in a big hurry to get any 'big teams' up at the Ricoh - would far rather have a decent run in the league to get into a winning mentality before the bubble gets burst by some decent opposition

1-3 to us. Now is the time to start getting serious and players wanting a spot in the 1st team

I agree. We will win comfortably I think. I say 3 - 1 as well providing he plays Murphy in goal.

I think the Daggers will really be up for a "top scalp", and we will scrape a 2-2 draw. Knock the stuffing out of 'em in the replay!

There is no replay is there? Doesn't it go to penalties?

There have already been pens in this cup. Didn't Sheff Utd go out on pens?

So nervous about this game. Keep remembering last season. Think we'll loose but I hope we win 2-0 and it ends up being a comfy game for once.

I'm just hoping whatever the result we don't go to extra time. Not good to tire players out before the first game of the season.

My main worry is midfield. Losing Barton, Thomas, Fleck and not signing Jennings in time means we have lost our 1st choice midfield.

I still hope we can overcome this tho and get a few early goals. 4-1 to us would be nice.

An easy win. And a few more quid for them because of their win bonus.

Won't be easy tonight.

We have Fleck, Barton, Thomas and Jennings (yet to sign) all out.

Brown and Kilbane in the centre maybe?
